Oyemekun Grammar School Shines Again, Won Overall Best School in CIF Talent Hunt

Oyemekun Grammar School Akure has won the overall best School award in the 2022 Talent Hunt program of Creative And Innovative Foundation (CIF).

The annual event is being bankrolled by John Kollyns Global Resources, Akure.

Speaking at the event held at Oyemekun Grammar School Hall, the representative of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr Yomi Akinrimade commended CIF for the innovative initiatives, saying it will go a long way in building the students toward future challenges.

Dr Akinrimade said Governor Akeredolu led government is very passionate about creativity and innovation tendencies which made him to appoint Special Assistant on Creativity and Innovation Growth.

He said the students need value of Godliness, hardwork, courage to sustain and maintain their talent.

Selected schools were picked in the three Senatorial District of the state for the event.

The students participated in debate, spelling Bee, creative writing, Fine Art, Science and Technology among other activities.

In the Debate, Fiwasaye Girls’Grammar School came first, Aquinas college, took second position while Oyemekun Grammar School came third.

In Creative Writing, Ologun Ayomikun of Oyemekun Grammar School won first position while in the Senior Category Ayodele Olusola of Oyemekun won.

Ayodele Olusola has won the award three consecutive times.

Also in Fine Art, Oyemekun Grammar School took first position; most composed debater went to Oyemekun.

Overalls Best student is Ayomide Olusola of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure.

In all the activities, Oyemekun Grammar School was the overall school.

Speaking with the PATH, the Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Mr Ogunleye Okeowo said the award is a testimony to the slogan of Oyemekun as the Only School in Ondo State.

He Commended the excellent performance of the students in the competition, saying they have made the school proud again.

Ogunleye said the huge investment of Akeredolu’s led government in education is yielding results as the school is winning both local, state and national awards.

His words: ” Oyemekun Grammar School is not taking Creativity and Innovation lightly as our teachers are ready to ditch out their best for the students”.

Ogunleye said the creativity is the “in thing” in today’s 21st century where many Nigerians are smiling to bank with their God given talent.

He congratulated CIF for the talent hunt program which will no doubt help the students to discover their potentials and talent.

He assured the students of continue support in discovering many of their hiding talents for the benefits of mankind and Nigeria at large.
