By Dupson Collins, 5th November, 2024
The Chairman of Idanre Local Government, Barr Smart Adeuyi Omotadowa has said that the party is confident that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his running mate, Dr Olayide Adelami would get a landslide victory in Idanre in the forthcoming November 16 Governorship Poll.
The Chairman speaks with the PATH as the campaign train of the All Progressive Congress and its candidate hit the ancient town of Idanre and its environs on Tuesday, 5th November, 2024.
Omotadowa said Idanre is Lucky as the mammoth crowd that greeted the governor entourage is unprecedented saying the people of Idanre Local Government Areas Council have felt the positive impact of the governor within ten months in office.
His words: Mr Governor has graciously approved dual carriage road from Akure-Idanre Road, first of its kind in the history of the local government. Whatever the governor says, you can take it to the bank and we are going to reciprocate this kind gestures by voting massively for APC and its candidate”.
The Chairman said the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the opposition PDP posed no threat to the victory of the governor adding that all the notable political gladiators in the People’s Democratic Party have all defected to the ruling APC.
He further said the position of the deputy governor is more of an extra tyre with little or no impact in governance, noting that Idanre people are wiser to be cajoled with the deputy governorship slot by the opposition party.
Omotadowa stated that APC in Idanre is more united than before saying that the running mate of Agboola who is the current Member of the House of Representatives representing Idanre/Ifedore won the election then because of division within the party.
According to him: ” We are more united than before and Hon Festus Akingbaso, the deputy governorship candidate of PDP who happened to be son of the soil poses no threat to the victory of Mr Governor and APC. We are going to win massively in Idanre because everyone is working assiduously in making sure we deliver our unit, ward and the entire local government for Governor Aiyedatiwa”.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has announced that the dualisation of the Akure-Idanre road is a top priority for his administration saying the project would significantly enhance transportation, particularly for investors keen on exploring tourism opportunities in Idanre Local Government Area.
The Governor said the dualisation of the road will commence from Oke Aro junction in Akure to lead to Idanre, adding that the contracting documentation is already being done.
He stated that his administration is committed to improving critical infrastructure, boosting economic activities, and ensuring the welfare of residents through sustained and strategic investments.
The governor visited palace of the Owa of Idanre, Aladeokun of Alade, the Awosunye of Atosin-Idanre, Aponmu Lona-Idanre, the Olu of Aponmu Lona,
In his address, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Ade Adetimehin, pledged that the government would take every request seriously, saying: “Governor Aiyedatiwa is a leader who prioritises the welfare of all citizens, and you can trust that your needs will be addressed.”
