The Bashorun of Owo Kingdom, Otunba Benji Oloye has been conferred with the Industrialist and Businessman of the year award by the Management of Mackjus Consultancy Services, the organizer of Sunshine Icon Award.
The award ceremony was held on Thursday 29th of May, 2025 at the Dejavu Hotel and Suites in Akure, Ondo State Capital amid pomp and pageantry.
In his welcome address, the organizer of the program, Ambassador Moses said the need to appreciate and encourage hardwork, dedication and diligence among the people of Ondo State birthed the maiden edition of the program in the state.
He added that, some prominent sons and daughters of the state need to be celebrated considering their outstanding contributions since the state was created 49 years ago.
Ambassador Moses noted that, Otunba Benji impactful contributions to the economy of Ondo State and Nigeria can’t but be recognized, saying the recognition is to further motivate and not to relent in boosting the economy of the state.
Speaking with the PATH, Bashorun thanked the organizers for beaming their search light on his activities, with a promise to continue to contribute his quota to the economy of Ondo State.
He charged every son and daughter of Ondo State to always endeavors to contribute to the economic development of the state, while tasking Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa led administration to provide enablement for both the local and foreign investors in the state.
Bashorun further appealed to the governor to always patronize local and indigenous contractors in the state, saying that is another way to boost the state economy and create job opportunities for the masses.
Some of the awardees include the governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Dr Olayide Adelami, Deputy Governor, Mr Kenneth Odusola-Steveson DG/CEO OSRC MEDIA GROUP, Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command among others.
