The Executive Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye has paid a working visit to the General Hospital Agadagba-Obon as part of the commission’s oversight responsibility to the oil-producing areas in Ondo state.
While leading the Board and Management team of the Commission to the Agadagba Obon in Ese-Odo, Arogbo ijaw axis yesterday, Wednesday 30th , 2025, the Chairman thanked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving the official inspection to all projects of the commission with intent of having first class information of the projects in the mandate communities.
According to the Chairman: ” Since I came into office, we have been visiting projects sites; we have visited roads construction sites, we are here to visit this general hospital. It is sad that a project that ought to be completed within 14 months is taking up to 15 years. Mr. Governor felt so sad about this and mandated the commission to look into the state of the hospital and get it completed in due time”.
He added that if the hospital is completed, it will not only serve the entire local government but the riverine communities and beyond, while assuring the people of the area that there won’t be any abandon projects under the government of Governor Aiyedatiwa.
He noted that the contractor handling the project has been mobilized back to site as Governor Aiyedatiwa is eager for timely completion and commissioning of the project. “We are giving you 60 days to complete these projects, that is the target”.
The Chairman also thanked Senior High Chief Bibopiri Ajube, for providing security and protections for government property, preventing it from being vandalized while urging other leaders in the Area to emulate him.
The Chairman further appreciated the youth of the community for their cooperation and support, describing them as responsible youth that the governor is proud of, asking them to continue to be partner in progress in the development of the oil producing communities.
He promised speedy completion of all abandon projects in the mandate areas, noting that Governor Aiyedatiwa has zero tolerance to abandonment of projects.
On his part, Hon Chris Ayebusua, member representing, Okitipupa Constituency 1 extended appreciation to the Governor over revisiting of abandoned projects in the area while also congratulating the OSOPADEC Chairman for leading a new course of development in the Oil producing areas since assumption of office.
Arch Kunle Awogbami thanked the Governor for the opportunity to move back to site after a long period of abandonment while also commended the Chairman, members of House of Assembly, Executive Directors and all the commissioners for their resilience in bringing needed development to the Areas.
In a separate goodwill messages, Omoni Pere John, Monday Grace (Women Representative) thanked the governor for remembering the community saying with the contractors back on site, it is a new beginning in the health sector of the community.
The Site Engineer of CIMAR VALEXIM Engr Olowojooba Joshua Tosin confirmed that the company has been mobilized saying the project would be delivered at a stipulated.
