Ondo Tribunal Verdict: Jegede Asks Supporters Not To Be Discouraged, Hopeful of Victory At Appellate Court

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the October 10th Governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede SAN has asked his teeming supporters not be discouraged by the outcome of the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, saying his hopeful of victory at the appellate courts.

He stated this while reacting to the verdict of the Election Petition Tribunal which ruled it lack the jurisdictional power to decide the case brought before it as it was a pure constitutional matter.

Addressing his supporters at his residence shortly after the judgment, the learned silk said ” what the tribunal has said is that we have no locus to challenge these constitutional issues, they said anybody as long as he is a member of the party can sign the nomination of it candidate”.

He stressed that ” there are processes that we can follow, we will exploit all those processes, this is the first one and there is no looking back, we should not be discouraged by this, we should know that journeys like this take time but we will arrive safely at our destination”

He reiterated that the legal pursuit is in the interest of the good people of Ondo State.

“The good people of Ondo State deserve the best, this legal pursuit is not for any personal interest, it is in the interest of the good people of Ondo State”
