The Retired Army, Navy and Airforce Officers Association of Nigeria (RANAO), Ondo State Chapter has joined other sympathizers to mourn the demise of the Governor of Ondo State, Late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, describing him as a fearless fighter.

Akeredolu death was officially announced by the Commissioner of Information of the State, Hon Mrs Bamidele Olateju where she stated that the People’s Governor took his last breath in Germany.

In a Press Release made available to the PATH, the Ondo State Chairman of the Association, Col Fidelis Ajibade Omowa (Rtd) said the news of the governor death was received with rude shock noting that the vacuum created by the Governor’s exit would take a long time to fill in term of Aketi fearlessness, boldness and openess while attending to both State and National issues.

“We are definitely going to miss our late Governor who has done well by all standards. Are you going to talk about his impact on the security architecture of the state? Akeredolu is a great hero with the manner he secured the lives and property of the people of the state with collaboration with security agencies in the state”.

His words:” on behalf of our great association, I commiserate with members of Governor Akeredolu immediate family, residents of Ondo state, Nigerians and members of the international community, as we mourn our dear governor, who has done his bits and passed on to be with his Creator.

Akeredolu traversed this earth as a true exemplar of astute leadership, embodying the essence of a genuine leader. This is indeed a colossal loss to Ondo State and the nation at large.

I mourn the loss of a voice of conscience, a man who stood steadfastly in defence of his people and nation, even in the face of overwhelming challenges.
