Ondo NLC : Amoko becomes Chairman, Promises to Prioritize Workers Welfare, Sustains Predecessor Legacies

Ondo State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress has elected new officers that will pilot the affairs of the Union in the next four years, as Comrade Victor Amoko emerged as the State Chairman.
Amoko before his emergence is the Vice Chairman of NLC and State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ondo State.
Amoko and other state executives were elected on Tuesday 7th March at the 13th Quadrennial Conference of the union held at NLC House, Akure.
Declaring the 13th Quadrennial Conference open in Akure, the Governor of Ondo State who was represented by Mr Dare Aragbaiye, Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties appreciated the union for supporting the governor to achieve the successes recorded in his administration.
The Governor said that there is always a way to confront every situation with the best approach, stressing that his administration will continue to prioritise their needs with the judicious use of the meagre resources available to the state.
His words: ‘I encourage the new executive to always break new grounds as you begin a journey of four years and we are assuring you that our doors are always open to suggestions that will better the lots of the workers”.
In a separate goodwill messages, the Ondo State Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele congratulated the labour family for the peaceful conference while thanking them for their support to the state government.
In the same vein, Com. Clement Fatuase, Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC) congratulated the out going executive for the successful completion of their tenure while asking the new executive to brace up for the task ahead.

In his acceptance speech, the elected chairman, Com Victor Amoko thanked all the delegates for their support and loyalty, promising to do everything within his capacity to defend the trust and confidence repose on him to lead the union in the next four years.
Amoko further noted that the shoe left behind by his predecessor in office is big, saying he will try his possible best to continue from where he stopped and sustain all his worthy legacies.
He assured the newly elected executive of team work, saying the same spirit he imbibed in the last administration would be replicated with the new state Excos.
” Let me covet the support, cooperation and the spirit of solidarity that prevailed in the previous administration for our administration both from government and stakeholders in the business of labour. With your support, we can take the mountain and make the impossible possible”.
Amoko promised Arakunrin Akeredolu led government of total loyalty and commitment to excellent service, saying the Union friendship with the government over the years has yielded positive impact in the lives of the state workforce.
He said for the good of the Union, he won’t shy away from constructive criticism, adding that with robust engagement, his administration will definitely make a progressive achievements.
Meanwhile, Ondo State NUJ Chairman, Comrade (Prince) Leke Adegbite also emerged as the State Assistant Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, unopposed.
