Ondo Artisans Group Swear-in State Executives As Apostle Adefioye Takes Over From Engr Daisi Komolafe

The baton of leadership of the largest umbrella body of Artisans in Ondo State has changed as Engr Daisi Komolafe bow out after eight years as the State Chairman of the Professional Artisans Society of Ondo State (PASOS) fondly called Ondo State Artisans’ Group.

He handed over to Apostle Adefioye Gbenga who was sworn-in alongside others State Executives at the Artisans’Secretariat in Akure Ondo State, on Tuesday 28th November, 2023.

Apostle Adefioye emerged winner in an election conducted by the Artisan Electoral Body beaten his close rival in the race.

In his welcome address, the outgoing President, Engr Daisi Komolafe who could not hide his joy returned all praises and adoration to Almighty God for the successful completion of his eight years tenure saying despite challenges, God seen him through.

Engr Daisi while thanking both the State Executives that work with him and members of the association, he said what gladden his heart most is the lasting legacy is leaving behind for his successor in office.

His words: ” I am very happy to live office better than I met it eight years ago; my legacy is there for everybody to see. An association I met with 27 members, today I am bowing out as the president with 97 associations under the umbrella of PASOS”.

He added that the rough journey of eight years wasn’t easy but God Grace sustain him to lead the association to enviable height.

Engr Daisi revealed that the choice of Apostle Adefioye Gbenga to succeed him was borne out of his unquestionabe character, commitment, honesty and good deeds, saying he has what it takes to lead the association to greatness.

He charged the newly inaugurated Excos to build their working relationship on love, trust and unity saying for them to achieve, it requires collective agreement of all parties, while asking them to listen to the advise of Elders in the association.

The Excos were sworn in by Barrister Wemimo who admonished them to live above board, prioritize unity and love, noting that the growth of the association lies in oneness of the executives.

He charged the newly sworn in president to be all inclusive and operate open door policy that will carry every Excos along and members of the association. “Don’t betray the outgoing President who supported your ambition to became the State President”.

” Mr President, if you want to succeed, unity, oneness and love must be your watchword; I am urging you to unite the association and continue from where the outgoing government stopped.

In his acceptance speech, the President-General Apostle Adefioye Gbenga thanked the leadership and members, particularly the outgoing president, Engr Daisi Komolafe for the confident reposed in him.

He pleaded for unity and harmony among members, adding that the success of the association is a collective business of every member.

The President promised to run an inclusive government where interest of all members would be protected and also increase the membership of the Association from 97 to 150.

Others highlight of the inauguration includes presentation of certificates to Excos and Elders, dancing and menu for members and invitees. Dignitaries in attendance includes Mr Akarakiri, State Chairman of OSATU, Barrister Wemimo, Association’s Electoral Commission Chairman and Members, Board of Trustees among others.

Executives inaugurated are Apostle Adefioye Gbenga (President);; Comrade Akinyanbola Johnson (VIce President 2); Comrade Badusi Babatunde (Secretary General); Comrade Olu Adebayo (Assistant Secretary); Comrade Sofin Adekunle (Treasurer); Comrade Sunday Alo (Financial Secretary).

Comrade Oni Emmanuel Olaniran (Publicity Secretary); Comrade Kehinde Adeogun (Social Secretary); Comrade Akintola (Organizing Secretary); Comrade Rotimi Williams (Auditor); Comrade Akeju Adebayo (Auditor); Comrade Adekunle Fayehun (Auditor) and Comrade Amusa Rasheed ( Chief Whip).
