The Ondo State All Progressive Congress (APC) Elders have congratulated Ondo State, Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, over his emergence as the candidate of the APC in the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in the state.

The Governor polled the highest number of votes in the primary election held on Saturday 20th April, 2024 and was declared winner by Governor Usman Ododo-led electoral committee.

In a Press Statement released to PATH NEWS and signed by the Secretary of the elders, Otunba Agboola Kelly described the primary as family affair saying the election reaffirms the commitment of the party to the tenets of democracy.

“Primary election in APC is a family affair. We have elected our governorship candidate. Now that the primary is over, we must remain the same progressive family and we must all come together for the election in November. 16”.

“The outcome of the election has demonstrated acceptability of the governor by the people of Ondo State. His performance within the shortest period of his inauguration is astonishing. There is no doubt to say that he deserves continuity”.

They commended all party faithful for the peaceful conduct during the exercise that gave the People’s Governor victory ahead of other aspirants is in the race.

“ We congratulate His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for clinching the ticket of the party after a keenly contested primary election.

The Elders appealed to other aspirants to see the governor victory as a divine arrangement while asking them to jettison their grievances and support the party to victory in the general election.

“We urged other 15 Aspirants to unite and support the governor in the November 16 Governorship Poll saying there’s nothing to share in zero”.

“ We are confident Governor Aiyedatiwa will win the election come November 2024, and ultimately, the people of Ondo State will be the winner”.

The Elders urged the governor to reunite all members and leaders of the party saying his victory is for APC and people of Ondo State.
