ONDO 2024: Yeswefit Founder, Ikubese Tasks INEC On Credible Poll, Cautions Against Vote Buying

Ahead of the Governorship Election in Ondo State slated for Saturday 16th November, the Founder of the Yeswefit Revolutionary Movement, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese has urged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct free, fair and credible polls in the state.
Ikubese, a former presidential aspirant made the appeal while chatting with the PATH NEWS on Thursday in Akure, capital of Ondo State.
He enjoined the electoral body to be transparent in the conduct of the election and collation of the results.
His words : ” INEC should make the Ondo state gubernatorial election a positive reference point in Nigeria”.
He further added that INEC should shun acts that could derail the smooth conduct of the election in Ondo State and ensure that people’s vote count.
Ikubese asked electorates to vote along their lines of personal convictions for the candidate they believe has what it takes to run a functional state.
” As people of Ondo State go to the polls on Saturday, they should not vote a candidate because the candidate give them the highest amount of money but to vote along their lines of personal convictions, for the candidate they believe has what it takes to run a functional state”
The Presidential Hopeful cautioned the politician against vote trading and inducement of voters to cast ballots for them saying they should allow voters to vote along their lines of conviction.
He appealed to the security personnel to be professional in their line of duties, not to be partisan but rather uphold the tenets of the constitution and the electoral acts.
” I call on the security personnel to promptly arrest and prosecute anyone they find at the polling units who is found to contravene the provisions of the law”.
He called on all the major players in the election to allow peace to reign before, during and after the election.
