Ondo 2024: Why I Won’t Quit My Governorship Ambition- Morayo Lebi

A leading aspirant in the race to Alagbaka Government House in Ondo State, Barr Morayo Lebi has stated that he will not quit his governorship ambition for anybody saying he has what it takes to govern the state beyond 2025.
Morayo Lebi, a Stalwart of the All Progressive Congress (APC) disclosed this during a Media Parley with journalists in Akure, Ondo State.
His words: ” As far as the governorship race is concern, I am not a pretender and I won’t quit my ambition for anybody. I have been a progressive all my life and this is our party that I helped to build. I have what it takes to lead Ondo State to progressive governance”.
He added that some of the aspirants who stepped down for other aspirants were more of pretenders who are using their aspirations to negotiate for future political arrangement or were financially induced.
“If it might interest, I paid for House of Assembly form of the so called governorship aspirant that has dropped his ambition. Someone who can’t afford Assembly form, where on earth could such person get the money to pay for N50m Governorship form?”
Morayo lebi who is a successful Lawyer and business guru said Ondo State needs the experienced of the technocrat like him who have succeeded in his business and have the technical know how in managing both human resources, business and fund should be given chance to rule the state.
He explained that he wanted to develop the state, and that was why he is coming out to offer himself as the right person to take the state to the next level .
He said, “We have enough resources every where in the state that could be explored to develop the state.
Waiting for the god fatherism of allocation from the federal government that would not be enough to move the state to the next level was not the best”.
Speaking further, Barrister said it’s better for us to think outside the box than to be waiting for the allocation before the state could develop it’s infrastructural projects.
He explained that the reasons why there was no power in the South South was that, they playing politics with those people in the areas as the government is not ready to paid the debt the BEDC claimed that they owning them.
He said ,”The truth of the matter is that, if government could deposited two-to three hundred million naira , the Southern senatorial district in the state would have light”.
Morayo said government are not ready to do that, and concerned about how the people living the area, especially those that were running business by using generator on daily basis are coping or surviving running their business without light .
He said he always feels their pain. He implored government to partner with the relevant stakes holders in supplying electricity to people of the southern senatorial district in Ondo State
On the issue of unemployment, Morayo condemned the rates of youth unemployment among the youths in the state.
He said the only solution to this mirage was for the government to explored the mineral resources in the state. Mineral like bitumen, gold and others resources in order to create job for the teeming youths .
He added that, there would be expansion if we can try as much as possible to look inward in tapping all these resources to our own advantages.
According to him, if we make more money , we would have more money to established the business.
Similarly, Barrister Lebi said having the rights activities for the people in the state are the best thing that could generate employment for the people.
He said what government just needs is the right political will to keep the ball rolling.
He advised the government to revived the Olokola project for the purpose of creating jobs for the good people of Ondo State .
He said Ondo State is the richest state in Nigeria but it’s one of the poorest state as it’s for now .
He explained that he had a blue print for tackling the insecurity in the state but he preferred to keep them for now due to the enemies that may likely wants to outsmart them.
