Ondo 2024: Babalola Seeks Engineers, Professional Bodies Support for Aiyedatiwa

The Special Adviser to the governor of Ondo State on Works and Infrastructure, Pastor QS Ayoade Babalola has solicited the support of Engineers and Professional Bodies in Ondo State ahead of the November 16 Governorship Election in the State.
Pastor Babalola sought for the support while representing the Governor at the Inauguration ceremony of Engr Oluwaseun Adeyeye as the 23rd Branch Chairman of the Akure Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers held at OSPDC MULTIPURPOSE HALL, Akure.
He affirmed the Aiyedatiwa commitment to revitalizing the infrastructure and ensuring more patronage of professional bodies by his administration.
“It is important that I applauded the State Government on the infrastructure roadmap of transforming every nook and cranny of the state. Engineering is the bedrock of any society and Engineers are the drivers of economic and infrastructure development that would impact the lives of citizens”.
The SA charged the Engineers in Ondo State to partner with the state government for rapid infrastructure development.
“If we must make progress as a country, the government at every level and Engineers must partner together for the rapid infrastructure development “.
He advised the new leadership of the NSE to pay more attention into the mentorship of young Engineers describing them as the future of the profession.
Pastor Babalola assured the Engineers of more government patronage by the time Governor Aiyedatiwa is swear-in as Substantive Governor in 2025, adding that Engineers and Professional Bodies have major roles to play in the victory of the governor come November 16.
Aiyedatiwa aide further highlighted the ongoing construction projects across the state, emphasizing that the efforts were part of a broader strategy to elevate the state’s infrastructure.
” Since Mr Governor took the mantle of leadership 10 months ago, he has not stopped working. Governor Aiyedatiwa promised to complete all the uncompleted projects of his Late Boss and today Mr Governor is fulfilling it as works are ongoing at Onyarigbulem Fly Over, Ijoka and Oda Roads, aside flagged off of projects in the three Senatorial Districts”.
The NSE Chairman commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his unwavering support for the engineering profession and transformative projects his government embark on in the last ten months in office.
While highlighting the crucial roles of engineering in advancing infrastructure and economic development of the state, Adeyeye urged the governor to embrace and support the Society in all their activities.
He promised to use his good office as NSE Chairman, Akure Branch to further enhance capacity building for local engineers, training programmes, membership drives, facelift to the Society Building among other lofty programmes for its members.
