Olowo of Owo Extols Rotn. Surv (Chief) Semiyu Adigun As Rotary Club of Akure City Commissions Ultramodern Community Centre

The Olowo of Owo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegeshin Ogunoye III extolled the laudable achievement of Rotn. Surv (Chief) Semiyu Abiodun Adigun on the successful completion and commissioning of the Rotary Club of Akure City Community Centre in Akure, Ondo State.

Rotn. Surv. (Chief) Semiyu Abiodun Adigun is not only a reputable High Chief in Owo Kingdom but also the President of Rotary Club of Akure City.

Precisely in October, 2023, the ground breaking of the multi-million Naira Community Centre was laid and in less than eight months, Rotn Adigun delivered as promised to his member, what a great feat?

It could be recalled that Surv. Adigun, the immediate past Surv. General of Ondo State approved the land on which the multi-million naira building was erected while in office as the State Surveyor-General.

Speaking with the PATH, Oba Ogunoye commended the history making Community Centre built by Chief Adigun, describing him as a resourceful son of Owo Kingdom that is making the town proud.

His words: ” I am hapy to be part of this history making commissioning of Community Centre of Rotary Club of Akure City under the able leadership of one of my Chiefs, Rotn Surv (Chief) Semiyu Abiodun Adigun. I commend your selfless service to humanity and promise of building this project within the shortest period of time, you are not only making Owo proud but Ondo State as whole”.

The Monarch thanked the Club for Certificate of Appreciation given to him saying he will continue to support anything that has to do with human development within and outside Ondo State.

In his address, Rotn Surv Adigun said topmost his priority when he took the leadership of the Club was the building, thanking God for making his vision come to reality with the commissioning of the Club Community Centre.

” With the completion and commissioning of this project, I am fulfilled because it was a promise made and promise kept. I thank God for this great feat and lasting legacy in the history of Rotary Club of Akure City.

The President extended appreciation to fellow president in the state, both past and present, members of Rotary Club for the successful completion of the project, he specially thanked Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegeshin Ogunoye and Hon Olayato Aribo, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry for the role they played in ensuring that the project comes to reality.

“While on the project, I need money to complete the project. I never believed that I will be able to deliver this project but thank God for support from friends and my younger brother, who is also a Rotarian,, Rotn. Olayinka Adigun, my goodwill among friends helped in the completion of this project. I can’t but thank all these people that believe in me and donated to the project”.

He implored people to prioritize good name above mundane things saying his goodwill and name while in the service of Ondo State pave way for the completion of the Ultramodern Community Centre.

While appreciating his immediate family, Chief Adigun specially thank his beautiful wife Chief Mrs. Titilayo Adigun for the sacrifice, support, words of encouragement while working on the project

Meanwhile, the building was Commissioned by the District Governor of D9125, Rotn Arc. Sani Sagab Ahmed.

The District Govenor, Arc Sagab Ahmed while commending Rotn. Adigun for the great achievement said he has written his name in gold in the history of Rotary Club of Akure City.

Aside the commissioning of the building, some notable Personalities were inducted. Hon. Gbenga Olaniyi, Commissioner for Physical Planning & Urban Dev and Hon. Akinwunmi Sowore, Commissioner for Lands & Housing were inducted as honorary members.

While responding on behalf of inductees, Hon Gbenga Olaniyi lauded the leadership style of Rotn. Adigun in the last one year saying he was attracted him to join the Rotary family because of his leadership acumen.

Also honoured and given certification of Appreciation were he Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III and Hon. Olayato Aribo and Arc Sagab Ahmed.

Financial empowerment was given by the past president of the club to Mrs Oyewamide Racheal and Mrs Kehinde Oyeyemisi, a cause which was supported financially by Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III and Hon. Aribo.

In attendance include the Deputy Governor who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Akin Adekola Falohun, Olowo of Owo Oba Ajibade Gbadegeshin Ogunoye, Hon Olayato Aribo, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, Hon Gbenga Olaniyi, Commissioner for Physical Planning & Urban Dev, Hon. Akinwunmi Sowore, Commissioner for Lands & Housing, past and present presidents of Rotary Clubs members among other well wishers.
