Olowa Backs Rep Akingbaso For Second Term, Says Continuity Will Bring More Development

The Olowa of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, Ilufemiloye, Ogidi III, has declared his total support for reelection of Hon Festus Akingbaso ahead of the 2027 general election, saying his continuation will further bring more development to the community.

The monarch made the declaration while speaking at the 2026 Igbara-Oke Orikadun International Festival, a major cultural gathering that attracted traditional rulers, political leaders, government representatives, community leaders, sons and daughters of Igbara-Oke and other dignitaries.

The Monarch thanked Fessywest as popularly called for his development strides in Igbaraoke and other communities in Ifedore local government, noting that, nobody changes a winning team.

Oba Agbede said, the federal Lawmaker prioritize the welfare of the community, adding that, the best way to say thank you is by coming out enmass to vote for Hon Akingbaso in the election slated for January 2027.

While endorsing Fessywest, the monarch called for massive votes for him and Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, stressing the need for the people to give them further chance to consolidate on what they have done for the community in the last three years at the National Assembly.

His words: ” Let me use this opportunity to tell you that, ahead of the forthcoming general election, I urge all Indigenes and residents of Igbaraoke to vote Hon Festus Akingbaso (Fessywest) and Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire for House of Representatives and Senate respectively. These two federal Lawmakers have contributed immensely to both human and physical development of Igbaraoke”.

” For continuation of what they are doing in our community like the University which is now in third reading, projects among others, will must support and cast our votes for Fessywest and Omo Ekun. They are the best candidates for the job and I am highly hopeful that, you people will vote for them “.

Meanwhile, the event also featured a goodwill message from the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who was represented at the festival by the Director-General of the Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT), Pastor Olumide Obadele.

In his message, the Minister commended the Olowa for his leadership and his contributions to the peace, unity and development of Igbara-Oke Kingdom.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated the monarch and the people of Igbara-Oke on the successful celebration of the Orikadun Festival, describing the preservation of culture and tradition as important to sustaining community identity and unity.

The 2026 Orikadun Festival provided a colourful display of the rich cultural heritage of Igbara-Oke, with traditional performances, cultural expressions and gatherings reflecting the history and identity of the ancient kingdom.

The festival also served as a platform for interaction among traditional institutions, political stakeholders, community leaders and the people, reinforcing the importance of unity and collective responsibility in advancing the development of the kingdom.
