NUJ HONOUR: Fatai Adams Bags Ondo State Most Consistent Politician of the Year

The Ondo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has honoured the State Chairman of the People’s Democratic party, Alhaji Fatai Adams with the conferment of Ondo State Most Consistent Politician of the Year on him.

The award presentation was part of the activities marking the 2022 NUJ Week in Ondo State.

Speaking, the State Chairman of NUJ, Prince Leke Adegbite extolled the virtues of Alhaji Fatai Adams, describing him as one of the most consistent politicians in Nigeria since joined active politics.

The Chairman also applauded his members for their sterling record of achievements made so far, advising that the awards and cash prizes earned should spur them to relentlessly imbibe and burnish the kernel of hardwork.

Adegbite said, “Today is not a speech making day, but to encourage our hardworking members to sustain the humongous pace. It is expected that after this bestowed honour, you need to scale up your game by keep toeing the line of proffessionalism and accuracy.”

“To be honestly honest, without being sarcastic, with no modicum of intention to prevaricate, Members of Ondo NUJ have been the best. We have not been mortified nor lashed by anyone over fake news, ergo, it worthy of celebrating.”

Speaking, the PDP Chairman who was represented by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon Peretei Ikantu congratulated the journalists in Ondo State for a successful NUJ Week, saying their professionalism in news reporting is commendable.

While thanking the body for the honour and recognition, he tasked them on objective news reportage and balance story, adding that they must double check their facts and figures before publishing any news item.

Peretei noted that PDP as a party is better positioned to rescue the country from the maladministration of the ruling APC in the forthcoming presidential election.

According to him, ” PDP is eager to take over from APC who ousted our party from government in 2015; Nigerians have seen the difference between light and darkness and they are ready to send APC packing next year”.
