Nigerian Navy FOB Commanding Officer Assures Igbokoda Residents of Adequate Security

The Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, FOB, Igbokoda, Ondo State, Captain Wasuku Alushi has assured the people of Igbokoda residents of adequate security of lives and property, saying no hidden place for criminals in the area.
Navy Captain Wasuku was speaking with the PATH during the Final Parade, laying of wreaths and empowerment for 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance day celebration held at Government Cenotaph, Alagbaka Akure, Ondo State.
He said topmost his priority is the safety of the people of the mandate area, noting that the little achievements so far recorded was made possible as a result of the cooperation of the people of Igbokoda and its environs.
The commanding Officer added that the carrot and stick approach implored by his command has really helped in reducing rate of crime in Igbokoda while asking for full support of the traditional rulers and community leaders in curbing crime in the area.
He reiterated the commitment of the base in stamping out the menace of crude oil theft and other crimes in Igbokoda and neighboring communities.
Captain Wasuku said in less than three months as the Commanding Officer, the base has made giant strides in the arrest and destruction of illegally refined products all in accordance with OPDS directive/mandate.
Meanwhile, the CO commended the giant strides of the fallen heroes and living legends in the military who have served the country meritoriously while charging their families to take solace in the gallant services of their husbands and fathers to the unity of the nation.
In the same vein, the Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa emphasized the cultural significance of the final parade and laying of wreaths, describing it as the highest form of respect for fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives both domestically and internationally.
Acknowledging the debt of gratitude owed to soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces, he stressed the importance of tangible support beyond words, urging charity works and assistance to their dependants and widows.
In attendance, the state Executives led by the Governor, all Service Chiefs and Head of Security Agencies, traditional rulers, State Assembly Members, Nigerian Legion, Association of Retired Army, Navy and Air force among others.
