NCWS Partners Afri- Consult To Offset Orphans School Fees at Eleyewo

The quarterly empowerment program for girl’s child in the Niger Delta States sponsored by Afri-Consult Nigeria Limited in conjunction with the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) has offsetted the school fees of some female orphans at LA Primary School in Eleyewo, Akure North Local Government Area Council, Ondo State.

The empowerment program was designed to assist the less privileged female children and women in the society. The organization has a mandate of visiting the three Senatorial Districts of the State for empowerment where the chairman of the committee will identify community to be presented to the donor for the empowerment.

Speaking with Newsmen, the State President of the NCWS, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode said the organization has put it upon itself to always comes to the aids of the female less privileged at all times, mostly especially the girl’s child who dropped out of school due to inability to meet financial obligations in her education.

The President noted that, the organization has trained many less privileged women through their collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that there is no better way to empower women than skill acquisition.

The Skill Acquisition Committee Chairman, Chief Mrs Mosun Odukale disclosed that, the quarterly projects of the organization has been divided into the three senatorial districts of the state, saying LA Primary School Eleyewo was the first beneficiary.

She added that, the happiness and radiating love in the faces of the orphans signified their appreciation of the kind gesture coming from the organization to them.

On her part, Mrs Awodola who is the NCWS Chairman Girl’s Child Empowerment in Niger Delta States stated that, there is need to monitor the children education properly, saying proper monitoring will enable them to measure up with their mates elsewhere.

She appreciated the resilient efforts of the leadership of NCWS under Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode for providing quality and purposeful leadership for womenfolk and children in Ondo State

The Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Women Affairs, Hon Kehinde Adeniran commended NCWS for coming to the aids of orphans in the school, saying their activities within the state has stood them out among others NGO in Ondo State.

She promised to support the committee with gift items like School Sandals, uniforms and payment of common entrance fees for the orphans in the school.

The Chairman of Akure North of the organization, Mrs Akerele thanked the chairman committee on empowerment for identifying with her local government, saying the payment of school fees for the orphans will go a long way in their education pursuit.

Olu of Eleyewo was full of appreciation, praising the organization for choosing LA Primary School in his community for such honour. Having been impressed with the gesture of the organization, he thereby approved the membership of his Olori to the organization.

Speaking with the PATH, one of the parents who witnessed the occasion, Mr Nwenke commended the motherly roles of NCWS in the state, noting that, the love and care shown to the orphans will serve as morale booster and encouragement to them now and in the future.

The President thanked the governor for providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils, noting that, it takes a caring heart governor to erect a modern building that will ease the learning process of the pupils.
