NCWS Ends Distribution Of Free Multivitamin To Pregnant Women

As part of its social responsibility to the society, National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) were among the Community Development Distributor volunteers that distributed free Multivitamin drugs across the rural communities in Ondo State.

For effective distribution of the drugs, presidents of NCWS across the 18 Local Governments of the state were trained by ROTDOW in partnership with Vitamin Angel in Abuja; both organisations were responsible for the free distribution of the Multivitamins to pregnant women.

Chatting with the PATH, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode, the State President of NCWS said the distribution of the Multivitamin across the 18 local government Area Councils of the state has finally come to an end, saying the group ensured the drugs get to every pregnant woman in the rural communities.

The President lauded ROTDOW and Vitamin Angel for coming up with the initiative of doling out free Multivitamins to pregnant women, saying it will no doubt go a long way in reaching the rural areas across the state.

She said NCWS will continue to partner any organization with genuine intentions for women, adding that the group will also support government towards raising healthy mothers and children in Ondo State.

She noted that, the administration of Vitamin drugs for pregnant women will promotes eye sights, prevent anaemia, reduces infection for better growth among other benefits.

” The drug is safe and it will goes a long way in reducing children mortality while supplementing their Vitamin deficiencies”.

While saying government can’t do it alone, she tasked private and corporate organisations to always continue to contribute their quota to the health sector.

Mrs Aborode further stated that, to ensured a successful distribution of the drug, Oloris’ were fully involved and carry along as they represent faces of women in their various communities.

” NCWS is increasing on daily basis as Oloris in many communities we visited have joined our group. They were convinced beyond reasonable doubt that, we are the voice of women in Ondo State”.

She assured women in the state that, the group will continue to protect their interest and continually play its motherly roles, so as to better the lots of female gender in Ondo State.

” One thing women in the state should notice about our activities is that, we are always ready to take away their pains, fight for what is rightfully theirs’ and ensure they live a better lives devoid of hatred, molestation and abuse”.

The NCWS Chairman Committee on Medical, Chief Mrs Smart has directed all Local Government presidents to distribute accordingly, so that the Multivitamin will go round the communities.

According to her, even distribution of the drugs to all the communities will enable every pregnant woman easy access to the Multivitamin.

According to her,” usage of multivitamins will enable pregnant women to deliver babies with functional sight and brain without experiencing neo natal disorder.

She commended the inestimable and knowledgeable leadership of the state president, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode, saying the welfare of women of the state is very paramount to her.

While speaking with PATH, Olori of the Akala of lkaramu Akoko said Akoko axis of the state have not had it so good like this before in the history of Ondo State having been a member of the group for over 23 years.

In the same vein, the Olori Gbiri of Epinmi Akoko said the benefits being enjoyed by the women of Akoko were made possible through the efforts of the group’s dynamic and results oriented State President.

” We are proud of her any day, any time. Without being sentimental, her tenure has ushered in a lot of programmes and benefits to women residing in Akoko region of the state’.

Olori olukare of lkare saluted the boldness, courage and innovative initiatives of the state President, saying all Oloris and women of Akoko are proud to be associated with her.

” Pastor Aborode is a real mother that is ready to shoulder the pains of other women without waiting for rewards from any mortal. A passionate woman of substance and a team player that respect other people’s view”.

All the Local Government presidents in the Northern Senatorial District described Pastor Aborode as a worthy leader with clear vision for women of the district and Ondo State at large.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries of the free drugs thanked NCWS and ROTDOW for the kind gesture, adding that the drugs will further assist their pregnancy and ensure safe delivery.
