The leadship of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) has congratulated the newly sworn in Commissioners, Special Advisers and Director General of Monitoring Unit on their appointments as cabinet members in the government of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Speaking with the PATH, the State President of the group, Pastor Mrs Jumoke Aborode thanked the gender sensitive governor of Ondo State for appointing women of substance in his government.

She congratulates the women Commissioners and Special Advisers, saying they must brace up to proof their mettle as deserving of the appointment given to them by the governor.

Pastor Aborode charged the women to be focused and delivered the mandate given to them by Arakunrin, stressing the need for them to work in line with the REDEEMED Agenda of Akeredolu led administration.

She assured the women of their maximum support and prayer, while urging them to live up to expectations deserving of a woman of substance.” Ondo State is blessed with high cerebral women with capacities to deliver in every position they might find themselves”.

” We are the voice of women in Ondo State and it is our collective responsibility to continue to support our female appointees while discharging their duties”.

While also congratulating the opposite gender on their appointment, she appealed to them to always promote and support women, adding that women active involvement in politics is to corroborate with the men for a better governance and not a struggle for power.

She appealed to the governor to continue to consider women for positions whenever the need arises within and outside the state.

” Like Oliver Twist, we are attending another inauguration as a women body, meaning we are always ready to take new responsibilities. We can only plead with our Mr Talk and Do Governor to appoint more women in his government. We want more than 24 percent, and we know our governor will give us more appointments in the future”.

Pastor Aborode noted that, it will gladden the heart of women of the state if more women are giving the opportunity to represent the state at the federal levels be it in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

“We have capable women among us who have what it takes to provide quality representation at the National Assembly. All we are asking for is the maximum support of our men; there is nothing wrong if woman is voted and supported in the forthcoming bye election in Akure South and Akure North”.

The President appreciates the digital First Lady, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for her continual commitment and support for women and girl’s child in Ondo State.

Meanwhile, in a press statement made available to the PATH, the Special Assistant to the president on Publicity, Documentation and Media, Alhaja Khadijat Okoro Salaudeen felicitates women, First lady and government of Ondo State at this yuletide, urging them to celebrate Xmas and New Year within their reach.
