Ministry of Agriculture Commissioner, Olayato Commends Akeredolu on Workers Welfare, Holds New Year Prayer Meeting With Workers

The Management and Staff of the Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has held its first prayer meeting, commiting the affairs of the ministry into the hands of God.
In what has become an annual event to begin a new year with prayer, Hon Olayato Aribo, the commissioner led the Management and Members of Staff of the ministry into the praise and worship at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Akure.
Speaking, Pastor Adeyemi said it became imperative to commit the affairs of the ministry into the hands of God for His protection in 2022 and making them to witness 2023 in good health.
He commended the Honourable Commissioner for leading other top notch officials of the ministry in the new year prayers session, saying the only tool for a successful new year is prayer.
Pastor Adeyemi described the commissioner as a goal getter and leader that always strive for the young ones to grow.
In his new year message to the workers, Hon Olayato returned all glory to God for seeing them through 2022, adding that despite the turbulence of the year, God mercy kept them alive.
He thanked Members of Staff for their support throughout last one year in office, while asking for more support in the 2023.
While commending the Worker’s friendly Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, CON for prioritizing the welfare of civil servants in Ondo State, he noted that it can only be a man with good and caring heart that can do what the governor has done in the last five years of his administration.
” Governor Akeredolu deserves commendation over workers welfare, payment of outstanding allowances owed by the previous administration, ensuring no workers go hungry during the festive period by paying their salaries”.
“Governor Akeredolu has already paid up till November, 2022; the December salary was delayed to allow workers meet new year financial obligations.
Aribo assured the workers that Mr Governor has promised to pay December salary very soon, adding that the one month remaining from the inherited seven months salary arrears will also be paid before the end of his tenure, saying Governor Akeredolu is Mr Talk and Do.
The Commissioner noted that in spite of the State’s lean resources, Akeredolu administration has continued to deliver dividend of democracy not to the workers alone but all residents of Ondo State.
He thanked the governor over his promise to employ additional hands into the ministries, saying Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will no doubt be a beneficiary of the kind gesture of the governor considering shortage of staff at the ministry.
Not too impressed by the turn out of workers at the prayer meeting, the commissioner has made it compulsory for every workers of the ministry to attend New Year Prayer Meeting as from next year, saying absentees will be sanctioned.
” From next year, it has become an offense for any staff of this ministry to absent from once in a year prayer meeting. I charge the organisers to make it an interdenominational prayer meeting so that no one will have excuse for not attending”.
The Commissioner charged the staff to put in their best while discharging their official duties saying whatever efforts and energy they put into government work will reflect in their private life after retirement.
He charged them to be diligent and hard working, adding that they are not working for government but themselves.
He promised to restore the lost glory of the ministry, adding that for it to come back to the old good days, its requires the collective efforts of everyone.
The Commissioner said the Internally Generated Revenue of the Ministry wil improve in 2023, while requesting for the cooperation of all the staff to achieve the set goals for the new year.
The prayer meeting was attended by the Commissioner, Permanent Secretary, Directors and staff of the ministry.
