Idanre Day 2023: Owa Urges Idanre Indigenes To Fast Track Establishment of Tertiary Institution in Community

The Owa of Idanre kingdom, Oba (Dr) Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV has urged sons and daughters of Idanre kingdom to help fast track establishment of Higher Institution in his kingdom saying Idanre is long overdue for tertiary institution.

The First Class Monarch disclosed this during the 2023 Idanre Day celebration held at the Olofin Grammar School Field, Idanre.

In his welcome address to the people, Owa said Idanre Day celebration which started two decades back has served as a vehicle to further cement the existing unity among his subjects and also an avenue to source for fund for self development.

The Monarch further said passionate to him and many Makanres is citing of Higher Institution in Idanre, charging Idanre indigenes to work towards making it a reality. ” I thank all those who have been making efforts towards this goal but we should keep surging forward for it”.

He enjoined Idanre sons and daughters in position of authority to be a mentor to the younger ones who are the future of the ancient kingdom.

He urged the well-to-do among them to bring their resources back home and establish industries and institutions in Idanre.

While thanking members of Idanre Development Assembly led by Chief (Dr) Anthony Adekanle Omolola, for shouldering 2023 edition of Idanre Day, he also appreciated donors for the success of the Day.

Speaking with the PATH, the Chairman Planning Committee who doubled as the Otunba Atunluse of Idanre kingdom, Chief (Dr) Anthony Adekanle Omolola thanked every son and daughter of Idanre who contributed to the 2023 Idanre Day celebration.

While preaching peace among the people, he added that the only thing that can bring rapid development to the ancient town is love and unity.

He urged the people of the town to shun hatred in the name of Politics saying there’s no place like home.

“The Idanre Development Assembly is working towards having a Cultural Museum in Owa Palace where Tourists and our children can visit to learn more about our cultural heritage. Through Tourism, Idanre will generate additional money and it will further expose us to the world”.

In the same vein, the Federal Lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Festus Akingbaso has promised to facilitate the building of Idanre Civic Centre and Cultural Museum saying both projects were long time overdue for the ancient kingdom.

While promising to address and promote cultural heritage of Idanre kingdom, Fessywest said Idanre is ripe to have Civc Centre and Cultural Museum for the preservation of Idanre culture where Tourists all over the world can visit.

” Idanre is Home of Tourism. Idanre museum will not only protect the history of our kingdom but will also serve as source of generating fund for the town. We refused to be relegated to the background in terms of building a befitting Civic Centre where Makanres and others could gather and celebrate”.

“The future of Idanre is very paramount to me. I am looking forward to the hosting of the next Idanre Day inside our Civic Centre and we can only achieve this if we allow love and unity to radiate among us”.

Fessywest added that the support of the people right from the period he was serving as the Council Chairman, State Assembly and currently as a Member of the House of Representatives has clearly showed that Idanre people sincerely love him.

While also extended appreciation to the Imperial Majesty, Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye, the Owa of Idanre and his Chiefs, Akingbaso said he won’t disappoint the confidence they reposed in him.

The Federal Lawmaker further assured the people of projects and programme that will cut across the federal constituents, saying the last few months in the hallow chamber, he has sponsored bills and motions that will be of great benefits to the people of Idanre and Ifedore Federal Constituency.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of #1m cheque to the Idanre Music Living Legend, Francis Akintade by the Majo Brothers in USA while the Chief Launcher, Hon Festus Akingbaso donated N5m for the developmental Project to be embarked upon by the IDA.

Also Award of Excellence was confered on some eminnents sons and daughters of the community who are making Idanre proud. One of such is Hon Festus Akingbaso, Member, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja.
