Hon Adeola Taoheed Musa To Co-sponsor 26 Referees Training Programme In Owo

A leading House of Assembly Hopeful in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Engr Adeola Taoheed Musa is co-sponsoring the forthcoming 26 Referees Training Programme holding in Owo.

The Career breeding programme is the initiative of the Owo Zonal Football Council in partnership with the Owo Youth General Assembly, a programme scheduled to kick start on the 4th of April at ODAFA Stadium Owo.

Speaking with the PATH, ATM as popularly called by his teeming supporters in Owo described the initiative as a welcome development for the youth of Owo, saying aside discovering of raw talent in refereeing, it is another employment generation for the 26 lucky youths.

He added that, sporting activities is another way of engaging youths and keeping them away from social vices that might have negative effects in their Iives if not check.

He commended the initiators of the programme for thinking it wise to engage the youth in refereeing, promising to provide needed logistics for the success of the programne.

Adeola appealed to sons and daughters of Owo to continue to support and encourage programme that will add value to the lives of the young ones, saying they are the future leaders that will make Owo Kingdom proud.

While congratulating the lucky ones in advance, he urged them to be focused and diligent in the course of their training.

He urged other well meaning sons of Owo to give financial support to the programme.

On his part, the Sport Director, Owo Youth General Assembly, Temitayo Oladipupo said the programme will recruit and train 26 talented boys and girls in football refereeing from young age.

He added that, the initiative also aim in ensuring the participants become Certified Referees capable of earning sustainable income from officiating local to state matches.

According to him, “The programme will provide source of revenue to support their university education and reduce unemployment in Owo communities.

Meanwhile, participants cover all the 12 communities in Owo Local Government, as the 26 Referees in Training will also get full kits with 2 years registration for free.
