A Civil Engineering and Building Contractor, Prince Adeniyi Francis Adegbehingbe has admonished all tiers of government in Nigeria to hand off in all forms of business and provide conducive cum enabling environment for the private sector to strife in Nigeria.
He made the disclosure while fielding questions from journalists in his office recently.
He maintained that the private sectors should be allowed to do business devoid of interference from the government while the private sector too will not fail in their obligation to the government especially in the area of payment of taxes and other levies to the coffer of the government.
“The government should endeavour to partner the private sectors,it is only the private sector that can drive development in this country,”he stated.
“For the past two decades or more,one cannot pinpoint to any enterprise with government involvement that has yielded tangible outcome even the so called Refineries where whooping sum of money is being budgeted for on yearly basis,yet non of the refineries is functioning.Look at Dangote, within a short period of time,he has been able to established a refinery in Nigeria, that is an indication that government has nothing doing in business.Business should be left for the Private Sector in Nigeria”.
He declared that the issue of electricity in Nigeria is still worrisome adding that with stable and uninterrupted power supply, prices of goods and services will reduce to the bearest minimum.
He averred that the Ondo State Government policies on business establishments are very comfortable and urged the state government to continuously patronize business owners and contractors in the sunshine state because sourcing for contractors outside the state will amount to capital flight knowing fully well that they are employers of labour,pay levies and taxes regularly to the coffer of the state government and other responsibilities geared towards improving the economy of the state.
He used the occasion to felicitate with the newly sworn-in President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCON, the Vice President and other elected representatives across Nigeria on the occasion of their swearing-in ceremonies.
