FGGS Principal, Ojoge Lists Criteria for Students’ Promotion As College Holds Annual Inter-House On Thursday

Ambassador Mrs Temitope Ojoge, the Principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School Akure has listed criteria for students promotion ahead of the third term exams, saying she won’t compromise the standard set for excellence by the school.

The Principal stated this while feeding question from PATH in her office, stating the level of preparation for the third term which is 80 percent academic.

She said the school is recording excellent performance in both the internal and external examinations due to the template of sensitization, regular encouragement and adequate teaching by teachers who are always up and doing.

Mrs Ojoge added further that, the criteria for promotion is five credit plus English and mathematics, saying nobody would make her to compromise the standard set by the school.

” Since the students know I didn’t compromise since I assumed office, the five credit promotional template has made every student to beef up knowing fully well that there’s no escape route to promotion than having the mandated five credit”.

She said to further strengthen, equip, and boost the academic performance of the students, she is working out a modality of putting five credit including English and mathematics and at least two core subjects as a prerequisites for promotion which we help in sitting for exam. “It will make them to be more focus and coming out with flying colours in their exams”.

The Principal while speaking on the Principal Test which is the first academic engagement on resumption day said it was designed to bring back the students to school on resumption day. “The total score for the test is 10 mark, 5 percent for attendance and 5 percent for written test”

Meanwhile, the Annual Inter-House Competition is slated for next week Thursday where all invited guests will be entertained with different sporting activities.

She cleared air on the proposed Mini Sport Complex saying location of the project within the school premises is delaying its commencement. ” We have all the materials needed for the completion of the project , the moment the issue on location is resolve, work will commence with immediate effect.
