An Advocate of Good Governance and Former Presidential Aspirant, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese has faulted the manner President Tinubu led administration announced the removal of fuel subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit commonly known as a Petrol describing it as wrong decision taken without fixing the moribund refineries in the country.

Dr Ikubese who double as the Chief Medical Director of the Sckye Hospitals Ltd stated this while chatting with Newsmen at the 13th Anniversary of the Citymovers Magazine held at SITA Hall Akure.

According to him, ” the first and crucial decision President Tinubu ought to have considered before removing subsidy is fixing the refineries but the inaugural speech of Subsidy is gone has thrown the citizens of the country into economy chaos and undue hardship”.

He bemoaned the failure of the former President Buhari administration to fix refineries despite spending eight years in office saying his dual cap as President and Minister of Petroleum yielded no good results.

” It is unfortunate that our leaders have not done what is right because the government that has been in office for eight years did not consider making any of the refinery working and as they were leaving, they were removing subsidy; the first thing they ought to have done is making refineries working before talking about Subsidy Removal”.

Meanwhile, Dr Ikubese congratulated the Publisher and Management of the Citymovers Magazine on its 13 years anniversary and for also recognizing outstanding individuals in the state for honour.

He urged the News Tabloid to keep the light burning saying 13 years is just a starting point for Citymovers believing God is taking them to better and higher places in journalism.
