Expert Urges Young Engineers To Embrace Entrepreneurship

An Entrepreneurship Expert and Managing Director of Klick Connect, Chief Alex Ajipe has urged young engineers to equip themselves with new ideas in entrepreneurship, saying creativity and innovation are the best instrument that will stand them out among comity of professionals in Nigeria.

Chief Ajipe was the guest speaker at the lecture organized by the Akure Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers tagged Young Engineers’ Empowerment Lecture. The lecture theme was ” Creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship for young Engineers. The lecture was held at the Engineering Resources Centre, Alagbaka, Akure.

Speaking with the press, the branch chairman of NSE, Engr Oloruntola Ezekiel said the need to encourage young engineers in the state to embrace entrepreneurship skills and creativity necessitated the public lecture organized by the society.

He stated further that, acquisition of additional skills and knowledge would not doubt add additional value to the professional callings as engineers.

In his lecture, Ajipe said it would be more advantageous for engineers to key into entrepreneurship in their respective fields of engineering.

” The world needs something that eyes have seen, a new ideas that can be birthed through your skill so that we world can be made into a, better place”.

He disclosed further that, creative is the only ingredient that can make an professional to stay ahead of others, improve product, think outside the box and stand one’s our in the mix of crowd.

Klick Connect MD noted that, ignorance is the greatest enemy of creativity, adding that the more people seek knowledge, the more their creativity horizon expand.

He said knowledge within what was taught in the school was not enough to make individual an outstanding professional.

” Acquire sellable skills and practical knowledge; without practical knowledge, you can’t develop your creative abilities and without sufficient development of your creative abilities, you cannot thrive in business”.

The Chairman Lecture Committee, Engr Steven Bolawale thanked the guest speaker and awardees, charging the young engineers to develop themselves, be focused and think outside the box if they want to be ahead of their colleagues in the engineering profession.

The guest speaker, Chief Alex Ajipe, Mr Babajide Akeredolu and Mr Akeem Jimoh were bestowed with different degree of awards in recognition of their contributions to the development of the state and being a good ambassador of the younger generation in the country.
