Expensive Vacant Seat : My Aspiration Not Accidental, Faro Speaks Out

One of the leading aspirants in the People’s Democratic Party eyeing the vacant seat of the Akure South and Akure North Federal Constituency, Hon Emmanuel Faro has stated that his ambition to represent the good people of Akure at the National Assembly wasn’t accidental but a well planned vision of several years.

Contrary to report in some quarters that Hon Faro is an opportunist whose aspiration to become the next House of Representatives Member was triggered due to untimely death of Hon Adedayo Omolafe.

Speaking with newsmen at a media parley, Faro disclosed that, he ought to have run for the office in 2018 but step down his ambition because of the late Adedayo whose political structures and soaring popularity that cut across board.

” I was supposed to run in 2018, I was consulting, however, when I learnt that Hon Adedayo Omolafe was running, coupled with his antecedent as former Council Chairman with track records of achievement while in office, I told my supporters to give me ample time to continue to bake and develop myself”.

Faro stressed that there is nothing accidental about his ambition nor banking on the demise of the federal lawmaker to launch his political ambition, saying his aspiration to provide quality representation to the people is God’s project and divine agenda.

According to him, ” Exactly on the 15th of June, 2019, l knew the time to start and serve my people has come. I submitted my resignation letter from the bank; since then, I am always around to attend to the pressing needs of the people within my little capacity- scholarships, donation to prison, motherless home, community services among others preoccupied my time”.

The ex- banker explained further that, he was setting his political machinery toward 2023 general election before the unfortunate happened. ” The good work didn’t start today, I knew it’s going to happen but we didn’t know probably is going to happen now; we thought it’s going to happen in 2023 but since unfortunate thing happened, I say this is the time”.

Faro noted that, to sustain the good works of late Adedayo Omolafe; competent, trustworthy and reliable person must be supported to keep Expensive legacy alive. ” We can’t afford to send somebody that will amass our collective resources to himself at the detriment of the teeming populace of Akure South and North; that is why I am throwing myself into the ring”.

While soliciting for people’s support, he describes his mission to the Green Chamber as a call to service; pleading with the leadership of the party in the state to conduct transparent primary that will produce the party’s flagbearer.

His words: “I know it may be daunting and tough but with God and support of everybody including the media, propagating this noble agenda and letting the public know my mission, definitely, they will vote for me”
