Encomiums As Gbenga Elewuju Bows Out Of Service

It was outpour of encomiums from who is who in both the public and private sectors in Ondo State as Mr Gbenga Elewuju, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Special Services Department bows out of service.

Gbenga Elewuju began his working career with the Ondo State Civil Service as an Information Officer ll on 16th April, 1987.

The valedictory service was first held at the last cabinet meeting of Governor Akeredolu first term in office on 18th of February, 2021 where every member of the state executive council poured out encomium on the versatile, cool and level headed Elewuju.

He was described as a quintessential administrative officer who conducted the affairs of Council secretariat timeously with utmost precision, diligence and uncommon sagacity.

The official Pen’s Down was held on the 5th March, 2021 at the OSPDC Event Center, Ijapo Estate, Akure.

The roll call at the event was endless; among the personalities that graced the pen”s down were Chief of Staff to the Governor, Olugbenga Ale, Head of Service, Dare Aragbaiye, SSA to Governor on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, Former HOS, Mrs Kolawole Kosemani, Gbenga Edema, Raimi Aminu, SA on Infrastructure, Former Commissioners, Former SAs, Permanent Secretaries, Directors, associates and families.

The Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale who stands in for the governor commended the sincerity Elewuju put into the service of the state. He noted that his loyalty to the government, dedication to duty and working relationship with members of the cabinet speaks good of his personality.

In his goodwill message, Mr Dare Aragbaiye described Gbenga Elewuju as hardworking, versatile, intelligent and vibrant public servant that knows his onions during his service years.

He charged him to dedicate the remaining part of his life to community service and service to humanity.

Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo who described Elewuju as brother said the public service has missed one of its finest officers whose verse knowledge in administrative work cut across every divides of civil service.

The Former HOS, Mrs Kosemani Kolawole said the retired Permanent Secretary is a cool headed public servant that serve the state meritoriously without blemish.

The children of the celebrant were not left out of the glowing tribute as they described him as a loving and caring father that holds his family in high esteems.

Mr Gbenga Elewuju started as Information Officer ll on the 16th April, 1987 and served diligently as a Press Officer to the wives of five different Governors from 1989-1994. He later transferred into the elitist Administrative officers’ Cadre in 1994 and served in various capacities traversing many Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

He was appointment as a Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet and Special Services on 1st December 2017 by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, an office where he served meritoriously for 8 years; aside serving in acting capacity for 4 years as Secretary/Permanent Secretary in the Cabinet and Special Services Department, Governor’s Office.
