Prayer Center Church of God ( PCCG), one of the biggest Christian ministries in Ondo State yesterday marked the 22nd anniversary of the church with prayer, praise and thanksgiving to God.

At the elaborate church service held in Akure, well attended by all branches of the church, the General Overseer, Prophet (Evang.) Samson Oluwamodede led members in special sessions of praise and thanksgiving to God for his wonderful works over the ministry in the last 22 years.

Prophet Oluwamodede who said the theme for the celebration: “The Almighty God” was carefully chosen to acknowledge God’s mighty works in the ministry further noted that God faithfully confirmed His wonderful works and mighty deeds over the ministry even beyond the expectations of all.

According to him, despite all the challenges and tribulations faced which he described as enormous, the Prophet said God made the ministry to overcome all and to expand beyond bounds.

Highlighting some of the ministry’s achievements, the General Overseer acknowledged God for personally giving him the enablement to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world and to win souls into the kingdom of God.

He appreciated God for giving men for His service in the vineyard and for meeting the financial needs of the church.

“God helped me to proclaim His Gospel all over the world. I have won many souls and halted satanic activities in many communities”.

In his message of hope to Nigerians, Prophet Oluwamodede said Nigeria will be better and that the people should be deliberate about changing their wicked ways and turning to God.

“Even if I see a bad vision, I do not expect it to come to pass because I will pray. Nigeria will be better and we will overcome but everybody has to be careful and give their life to Christ. To the ministers of God, I also admonished them to speak up in the face of evil. There are some mess in the church; things you don’t even expect to see in the hands of unbelievers. Everybody must be careful”, he stressed just as he expressed optimism that next year’s celebration will be greater.

Other highlights of the church’s program included special choir rendition, sermon and prayers for the church of God and the nation.

One of the founding members, Oba Osunnakinde Adeola Obawuye of Ifetuntun while extending congratulations to all members of the ministry particularly thanked God for the life of the General Overseer, Prophet Oluwamodede.
