Eid-el-Kabir: “Political office should be for sacrificial service and not for accumulation of personal wealth”- Ikubese
The Chief Medical Director of Sckye Hospital, Akure and former Presidential Hopeful, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, has called on politicians in Nigeria to see political office as sacrificial service and not for the accumulation of personal wealth.
He stated this in his sallah message, felicitating with all the Muslim brothers and sisters on this year Eid-el-kabir celebration.
” I admonish our Muslim political office holders to follow the example of Prophet Ibrahim in the school of sacrifice, as political office should be for sacrificial service and not for the accumulation of personal wealth”.
Ikubese added that, for Nigeria to overcome her present predicament and forge into greatness, the country’s political leaders and every citizen must adorn the garment of sacrifice and selflessness, putting the interest of the nation above personal interests.

MY EID-EL-KABIR MESSAGE TO MUSLIM FAITHFULS
Today, I felicitate Muslims all over the world in celebration of the Eid al-Kabir festival, which honors Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah.
This festival is very significant because it emphasizes the place of selflessness and sacrifice in the affairs of mankind.
Our nation Nigeria is currently at a cross road. If she will ever come out of the current predicaments and forge into greatness, our political leaders and in deed every citizen must adorn the garment of sacrifice and selflessness, putting the interest of the nation above personal interests.
While I believe that this should necessarily flow from the top to bottom, yet the role of every citizen cannot be overemphasized.
I admonish our Muslim political office holders to follow the example of Prophet Ibrahim in the school of sacrifice, as political office should be for sacrificial service and not for the accumulation of personal wealth.
Citizens should also desist from mounting unnecessary financial pressures on political office holders for their personal interests.
