The Sarkin Shasha Community in Oba -ile, Akure North Local Government of Ondo State, Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu Dangari has given reasons why Nigerians should continue to pray for their leaders at every level saying the people’s prayers for them have a long way to go in the provision of good governance.

Muslim faithful across Ondo State observed the usual Eid prayers on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 after 30 days fasting, particularly praying for peace among the Muslims and Non-Muslims.

Speaking with the PATH Correspondent in his palace, Alhaji Dangari preached hope and called for a unified effort from all Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah, towards building the nation.

It could be recalled that, the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs under the leadership of its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, declared Wednesday as the first day of Shawwal.

The Sarkin felicitates the Muslim Ummah in Shasha Community at Eid-el-Fitr, an auspicious occasion that signifies the end of Ramadan a period that reflects total submission to God Almighty and His command to Mankind.

He added that rather than cursing the country’s leaders in the state and federal levels, praying for them always we assist them in fulfilling their electoral promises.

“I therefore ask you to pray for your leaders and the peace and unity of our dear country. I believe with your prayers, Nigeria will overcome its current challenges.”

He stated further that despite the hardship the country is facing with the policies of the present administration in Nigeria, he said President Tinubu means well for the country, believing in due course, Nigerians will smile again.

“I want to use this opportunity to urge the citizens to remain united and commit themselves to intense prayers for the development of our country. We should all support and pray for the president, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa to succeed in turning the fortunes of our beloved country and state positively”.

He charged Muslims to sustain the lessons learnt from the holy month; and continue to pray for peace and prosperity, asking them not to go back to ungodly deeds that Almighty Allah frown at.

“As we celebrate Eid el-Fitr and mark the end of Ramadan, let us remember to keep the spirit of Ramadan alive in our hearts and minds.

He promised to ensure Sasha Community harbour no criminal elements in the state, saying Ondo State is their home and his leadership will ensure peace and harmony prevail in all their dealings at Shasha market.

“This is Shasha Market and our primary duty as the community leaders is to ensure peace and harmony prevail. No hidden place for criminal elements in our community and we shall continue to cooperate and collaborate with the security agencies to rid the state of criminals.

Similarly, in his congratulatory message, the General Secretary of the community, Alhaji Jubril Aminu enjoined all Muslims to seek the face of Almighty Allah on the challenges facing the nation.

“Our dear nation is passing through a phase in history that requires the cooperation and understanding of all well-meaning citizens.

“Let us continue to renew our hope for a secure nation and a prosperous future for the citizenry under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am sure our prayers during the past month while fasting will be answered in due course” he stated.

He urged Muslims to remain steadfast on the righteous path exemplified by Ramadan, and to continue fostering peace, understanding, and cooperation within Shasha community.

Alhaji Jubril advised Nigerians to see one another as brothers and sisters, saying as the most populous Black Nation in Africa, we should use our population to the developmental advantage of the country rather than prioritizing ethnic and religion sentiment.

He assured the present government in Ondo State under the leadership of Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of their support and cooperation, noting that the community needs the presence of Government in the community.
