Easter: Emulate Christ Sacrifice For Humanity, Alonge Charges Christians

A Retired Permanent Secretary and former Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Social Investment Programme (SIP) Barr Felix Kolawole Alonge has charged Christians to emulate the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to humanity, saying Easter is beyond winning and dinning.

In his Easter message made available to the PATH, Alonge said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which was the essence of the Easter celebration, remained the greatest sacrifice for the redemption of mankind.

His words: ” Easter is beyond winning and dinning; all Christians must emulate Christ’s virtues of humility, love, perseverance and compassion. His death on the cross was purely for the atonement of our sins and this must not go in vain”.

While wishing Christians in Ondo State happy Easter, he urged them to celebrate in moderation considering the security challenges across the country.

He commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for leading in the fight against insecurity in the state, noting that, the governor proactiveness has helped in reduction of criminaliity in the state.

“In the fight against insecurity in the state, Mr Governor has not only provided needed logistics and equipment but set up Joint Task Force to fish out criminal elements from the state. Vehicles and gadgets were donated to all the security agencies, aiming at one target, making Ondo State safety”.

He thanked the Governor for counting him worthy serving the good people of Ondo State as one of his aides, saying he never took such opportunity for granted.

While promising to continue to serve the state in whatever capacity the governor deem fit, Alonge pledged his loyalty to the leadership of the governor in the state.
