Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Ogunyemi Canvasses More Leadership Roles For Women, Bags Award

The Principal of Ekiti State Staff Development Centre, Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Ogunyemi has been conferred with award in recognition of her laudable contributions to the development of humanity and service to mankind in the South West region of the country.

The award presentation was held at the Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State.

Speaking, the publisher of the magazine, Olutayo Moses Adu congratulated the lucky awardees for making the list of this year annual award and lecture.

He said the awardees were painstakingly selected based on popular votes from the Members of the public among other parameters.

While chatting with the PATH NEWS, Dr Ogunyemi thanked the media organization for the honour saying it came to her as a surprise.

She promised to continue to contribute her quota to the development of the society and mankind.

Meanwhile, Dr Ogunyemi canvased for more women participations in leadership position, noting that their participation ask a great impact on the country socio economic future and development of the country.

Her words: ” I am using this medium to appeal to our women to come out of their shell and join mainstream of Nigeria project. Our position is no longer in the kitchen as some people want to condemned us into house shores alone”.

He asked women to attach more importance to whatever they are aspiring to become in life, saying they must stop being a burden on their respective spouses.

“It is high time women wake up from their sleep and stop being a burden to their husbands. A country that keeps down half of the productive demography is bond to perform sub-optimally”.

She charged parents to focus more attention on the well-being of their girls’ children, saying Nigeria women has refused to sit at the back seat again.

He thanked the publisher for counting him worthy to be listed among eminent Nigeria conferred with the prestigious awards.

Dr (Mrs) Olufunso Ogunyemi hailed from Ikoyi Ekiti. She attended Ondo State Polytechnic Owo, now Rufus Giwa polytechnic. She joined Ekiti State Judiciary in 2001 as Confidential Secretary.

She obtained Masters in Education Management and also a Phd Holder. She has received several awards among which were Counseling Association of Nigeria, Letter of Commendation from the Heads of Service of Nigeria among others. She is married to Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi.
