Ifira Development Association Honours Aiyedatiwa’s SSA, Smart Omodunbi, MHA, Young Allhaji

The Ifira Development Association (IDA) has honoured two indigenes of the town, Hon Muritala Suleiman, Member Ondo State House of Assembly and Hon Smart Omodunbi, Senior Special Assistant to Ondo State Governor on Political Matters.

The warm reception accorded the two politicians took place at the SITA Hall, Alagbaka Akure, Tuesday 16th July, 2024 where award of recognition as a distinguished son of Ifira were conferred on them.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of IDA, Akure Branch, Hon B.I. Idowu thanked the governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing worthy sons of Ifira Town into sensitive positions in his government.

The Chairman said IDA efforts in making progress led to the creation of Ilelabo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) with Headquarters in Ifira Akoko.

Hon Idowu also appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa for the bold step taken to put Afo-Ifira Road among the first phase to be constructed in the provision of rural infrastructure of the state.

He appealed to the governor to further looks into the bad feeder roads in the community, while asking for the upgrading of the town Health Center into standard Cottage Hospital for better service delivery.

Speaking, the Regent of Ifira Akoko, Princess Folashade commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for the appointments so far conferred on indigenes of the town, assuring him of maximum support from the people of the community.

The Regent reiterated the need for all indigenes of the town to embrace peace and be united for the progress of Ifira Akoko saying development can only take place where there’s relative peace.

Her words: “I implore all sons and daughters of Ifira Akoko to prioritize our unity for rapid development to take place. Also, our appointees that we are celebrating today must always put the interest of Ifira first in all their dealings”.

She enjoined the State Governor to help upgrade infrastructure in the only community Grammar School in the town while commending his investment in education sector.

Responding on behalf of the celebrated awardees, Hon Smart Omodunbi thanked IDA, Akure Branch for the prestigious honours and civic reception accorded them.

He promised to always represent the interest of the town and ensure what is due to the people of the community get to them.

While chatting with the PATH, Hon Muritala Suleiman popularly called Young Allhaji, Member representing Akoko South East at the State House of Assembly thanked the people of his Constituency for believing in his leadership since he was elected into the hallow chamber.

He appealed to the people of the constituent to cast their votes for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 Governorship Election in the state.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of Awards to the duo by Professor Fasoranti and Regent Folashade respectively.
