Develop Small Scale Industrial Sector, NASSI Tasks Akeredolu

Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Ondo State Chapter, has tasked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to focus more attention in developing the small scale industries, saying huge investment in the sector will further boost the economy of the state.
The State Chairman of the association, Great Sheyi Akintunde stated that there is need for the present government in the state to consider the small scale industrialists while drafting its annual budget.
Great Sheyi said NASSI as a body has not in the real sense benefitted from the Akeredolu government in the last four years, appealing to the government to look critically into the development of Small, Medium Enterprise in Ondo State.
” Governor Akeredolu has been magnanimous enough to partner with the mega industrial hub in Ore, forgetting that before Ore Industrial Hub, there were small scale industries in Ondo State that were providing palm oil, Garri, shoes, soap and cream; government should be thinking on how to develop this sector”.
The Chairman said further that small scale industrialists control the economy of the nation which necessitated the need for any responsible government to invest its resources in the sector.
” We are not mega nor multi-national but SME are the engine room of a nation vis-a-vis Ondo State. We are the engine room of Ondo State, our services are vital in the state”.
He advocated for state government patronage and sponsoring of the association’s program, adding that government robust relationship with the association will better the lot of the residents of the state.
” Our contributions to the economy of the state is indisputable and cannot be neglected; no association in the state has contributed to the state economy like NASSI”.
Great Sheyi charged Akeredolu led administration to make provision for Small Scale Industries and SME in his second term in office, saying history and prosperity will not forget him if he invests the state resources in the sector.
