Comrade Sanmi Alade Lauds Gov Aiyedatiwa on I8-Seater Buses Donated To NULGE Branches

The Chairman of the Conference of NULGE Chairmen in Ondo State, Comrade Sanmi Alade has lauded the governor of Ondo State on the donation of 18-Seater buses to all the 21 branches of the Union in Ondo State.

Leading the branch chairmen of the union to receive their buses at the NULGE State Secretariat in Akure on Wednesday 10th December, 2025, Comrade Alade described the governor gestures as unprecedented in the history of the union in Ondo State.

He stated that the buses would greatly reduce the hardship faced by local government workers in commuting to work, while commending Comrade Frederick Akinrinlola leadership since assumption of office.

Comrade Alade who is also the Chairman of NULGE in Akure North Local Government described Aiyedatiwa as a workers-friendly leader committed to alleviating the effects of economic hardship on workers.

He assured the governor that the union will make proper use of the vehicles, saying it would be used strictly for Union activities and not commercialized.

Earlier, the President-General of NULGE, Comrade Aliyu Haruna Kankara, described the initiative as unprecedented, noting that no state government had ever procured and handed over such a number of buses to NULGE branches at once.

The Special Adviser on Union Matters, Comrade Bola Taiwo who represented the governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, noting that additional interventions, including more buses, are expected in the coming weeks to ease transportation challenges faced by other categories of staff.

On his part, Ondo State President of NULGE, Comrade Frederick Akinrinlola, described the gesture as historic, thanking the Governor and the national leadership of the union for their support.

He also appreciated local government chairmen under ALGON, Ondo State, for backing workers’ welfare initiatives.
