The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Social Investment Programme, Barr. Felix Kolawole Alonge has described those peddling death rumour about Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN of Ondo State as enemies of the state.
He stated this while chatting with the PATH NEWS on the death rumour of the governor being reported on different news platform across the state.
Alonge noted that it is a sin before God for anyone to wish his fellow being death, saying it is only God that has power over life and death.
” Wishing a person dead because of political gain is a sin before God. I can only urge those who wished the governor’s dead to seek forgiveness from God”.
The SSA further said that Arakunrin Akeredolu contributed in no small measure to the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 Polls, saying it is only enemy of the state that can wish the governor dead at this period that he ought to be at the forefront negotiating good things for Ondo State.
“In the last Presidential Election, Ondo State recorded the highest votes for President Tinubu in the South West Region of the country; with this history making votes, Ondo State deserves better appointment and patronage from President Tinubu led Federal Government. Our Seaport that was approved at the tail end of President Buhari administration, Ado -Akure Roads among others must comes to fruition”.
He said the governor did not only ensure APC won in Ondo State alone but also delivered massively for Tinubu in his home town in Owo Local Government scoring about 73 percent of the total votes in the council area.
” Governor Akeredolu passionately campaigned for Tinubu across the length and breadth of Ondo State and it is proper for the state to be rewarded and to those wishing their benefactor dead, they have missed it because God has heard the prayers of the people of Ondo State and very soon, Arakunrin would be back to his desk”.
The Retired Permanent Secretary said instead of wishing the Governor dead, let’s everybody continue to pray for quick recovery of a man that has transformed Ondo State in the last six years in the saddle.
” Sentiment apart, in the history of Ondo State, Governor Akeredolu is one of the best hands to have governed the state; are we talking of security of lives and property, infrastructural development across board, huge investment in education, health and agriculture, workers welfare among others will continue to endear the good people of the state to him”.
He cautioned the enemies of the state to stop spreading fake news concerning the health of the governor that is fast responding to treatment, asking the political gladiators to stop playing politics with the governor’s health status.
“To the political gladiators rocking the boats, it is high time they stop causing confusion in the state; Governor Akeredolu is not a robot nor a machine that can’t fall sick but playing politics with his health is the height on insanity any of these enemies can display”.
