BASHORUN OF AKURE, IFEDAYO ADEDIPE SAN BURIES MOTHER IN GRAND STYLE

It was gathering of who is who in Akure, the Capital of Ondo State during the final funeral rite of Chief Morenike Esther Adedipe, the mother of a renowned lawyer, Ifedayo Adedipe SAN.

Chief Esther Adedipe aged 86 died on the 9th of June, 2020. The funeral service was held at the Cathedral Church of Saint David’s, Ijomu, Akure, Ondo State.

Leading dignitaries to the reception that was held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade was the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, a good friend and close confidant of Ifedayo Adedipe SAN.

Speaking at the event, Governor Wike described Ifedayo Adedipe as a brother, friend and family whose relationship has been for decades in Portharcourt, Rivers State.

Governor Wike said, Adedipe is a fine gentleman but a rugged lawyer that has won high profile cases in Nigeria.

He commended him for giving a befitting funeral to his mother who toiled through thin and thick to gave him the best education.

On his part, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said Ifedayo Adedipe SAN is a proud son of Akure and Ondo State who prominence in legal profession has placed the state in world map.

He said the presence of Governor Wike at the funeral signify that Ifedayo Adedipe is representing the state well in Rivers State having spent over 40 years in the oil rich state.

While thanking the governors, Ifedayo Adedipe SAN said their presence at the event signified that we are one Nigerian, saying despite the governors different political affiliation, they both honoured him and the memories of his late mother with their presence.

Other dignitaries that graced the ceremony were; Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade and his Chiefs, former Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede SAN, Chief Olusola Oke SAN, Remi Olatubora SAN, Prominent SANs across the federation, Ondo State PDP Executives led by Chairman, Fatai Adams, Otunba Oluwateru, former Deputy Governor, Chief Olufunmilayo Adekanye, Erelu of Akure Land among others.

King Sunny Are the Juju Maestro performance added colour to the ceremony, with a lot to wine and dine.
