BACK-TO-SCHOOL: JUBILATION AS FESSY WEST EXTENDS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT TO IFEDORE PUBLIC SCHOOLS
_Ibulesoro Town Hall agog as students, principals, ANCOPS leaders applaud Hon. Festus Akingbaso’s visionary gesture — 4th Edition_
Stemming from the huge success of the distribution of Back-to-School materials to public secondary school students in Idanre on Tuesday, 16th September, 2026 at Alade, the FESSY WEST train on Wednesday, 17th September, 2026 shifted to Ifedore Local Government.
The venue, *Ibulesoro Town Hall, Ibulesoro*, was filled to capacity as representatives of various public secondary schools — Principals, management staff and smartly-dressed students in their neat school uniforms — converged for the epoch-making event.
Also present were the students’ stakeholders group led by *Comrade Samson Omole* and his team, as well as invited dignitaries, scholars and education managers.
Seated at the high table were the *State Scribe of ANCOPS, Mr. Ohome (Mr. Ilu)*, the *Treasurer of ANCOPS at the local government level, Mr. Taiwo Olafisoye*, and the vibrant and highly respected *Area Education Officer (AEO) for Ifedore, Mrs. Tolani Adeniyi*, who was fully on ground for the exercise.
The facilitator, *Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, MHR, Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Aviation*, was ably represented by his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), *Hon. Oluwole Fakologbon* alongside other aides.
After opening prayer and introduction of guests, the hall became electrified with epochal speeches, remarks and charges from respective speakers.
Leading the charge, the AEO, *Mrs. Tolani Adeniyi*, acknowledged and deeply appreciated the gesture of Hon. Akingbaso. She charged the students to be positively responsible and responsive to such goodwill, describing it as giving back to the system. She further enjoined them to set high academic standards in order to be in vantage position to also give back to the society in future.
Earlier in his remarks, *Mr. Ohome* thanked the facilitator, whom he described as a giver and achiever of repute. This was corroborated by *Mr. Taiwo Olafisoye*, who extolled the sterling qualities of Hon. Akingbaso, describing him as a true friend of students and youth. He charged the beneficiaries to spread the positive news to their parents and neighbours and ensure the re-election of the incumbent MHR to attain ranking status at the National Assembly for greater influence.
Speaking on behalf of his principal, *Hon. Oluwole Fakologbon* thanked the AEO, Principals, school staff and students for their impressive turnout. He enumerated the efforts of Hon. Akingbaso both in public and private capacities, noting that achieving ranking status will stimulate further advocacy, influence and more developmental projects at the National Assembly.
In his appreciation, *Dr. Lasisi* lauded the gesture and requested for more advocacy and interventions, noting that though this wasn’t the first time Ifedore was hosting the programme, it is already the *Fourth Volume* in the series.
Highpoint of the event was the official handing over of the educational materials to the AEO and school managements for onward distribution to students.
Excitement rented the air as beneficiaries applauded the facilitator for putting education first.
