An Islamic Cleric in Ondo State, Imam Ismail Abdul-Nofiu Ododoloto has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of marginalizing the Muslims of the South West on appointment, saying it is an injustice to the core Muslims which the president must correct.

The fearless Cleric who is the Chief Imam of Eyin Apata Community in Akure made this disclosure during the public lecture organized by League of Imams in Akure Land.

Speaking with the PATH, Imam Ododoloto said Muslims in the South West have witnessed untold injustice through the president unfavourable and lopsided appointments against the Muslim from the region who stood by him during the struggle for Aso Rock job.

According to him, ” The appointment so far made by the president exhibited lack of equity, and fairness. Our sister religion has benefitted more than the Muslims in the South West who were at the forefront during the political struggle”.

He added that it will be a shameful act and slap on the face of the Muslims from the region if in spite of their contributions to Tinubu’s presidency fail to be appointed into sensitive positions.

“It does not take us anything to pray for or against any leader that is denying us our right. We worked assiduously for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and we deserve to be compensated. Mr President must put real Muslims in the South West into consideration whenever he is giving out appointment”.

Ododoloto stressed further that what the South West Muslims are demanding for is equal right and nothing more. ” We are not saying all the appointment in the country should be given to us but the President must balance it for equity and justice”.

He lamented that little appointment so far given to the South West Muslims went to wrong people who are not practicing Muslims, only bearing Muslim names thereby shortchanging the real Muslims of the slot allocated to them.

The Cleric appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the President Tinubu administration saying the president felt the pains of the citizens and he is doing everything possible to make the country work again.

” President Tinubu is not blind to the pains and suffering some of his harsh policies are causing Nigerians and I believe in a matter of time, Nigerians will be relieved”.
