Alaba Afeere Takes Over As Chairman Ondo State Truck Owners Association, Seeks Govt Improved Forest Security

Comrade Afeere Alaba has been Inaugurated as the Chairman of the Ondo State Truck Owners Association covering Akure South, Akure North and Ifedore Local Government Areas of Ondo State.

Speaking with the PATH, the newly Inaugurated Chairman pledged to strengthen the association’s relationship with the state government to promote development and protect the interest of members.

He described his emergence as a great opportunity to serve the association, promising not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him by members.

He assured members that his administration would work diligently to advance the interests of the association and Ondo State.

He added that restoring cordial relations between the association and the government was one of the major priorities of his administration.

His words: ” During my campaign, l promised to bridge the gap between the association and the government by promoting dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding”.

He noted that his administration would encourage members to appreciate the importance of the association while ensuring that their legitimate concerns receive appropriate attention from the government.

He further identified insecurity in forest reserves as one of the major challenges confronting timber operators, noting that logging activities expose members to security risks, including kidnapping and possible loss of lives.

Afeere therefore called for stronger security measures in forest reserves to protect timber operators and their property while carrying out their lawful activities.

He called for maximum cooperation, stressing that their collective support would enable him to address existing challenges, close operational gaps and achieve the association’s objectives.

The Chairman expressed confidence that sustained cooperation among members, saying the association’s leadership and the government would contribute to the growth of the timber industry and the overall development of Ondo State.

Speaking, the Aladeokun of Alade Idanre, HRM, Oba Ayodele Adeshoga Akinnadeju congratulated the chairman and his executives, asking them to live above board and be accountable to members.
