Ondo NLC Gets Acting Chairperson, Comrade Akinyemi Olatunbosun

The National Headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has appointed Comrade Akinyemi Olatunbosun as the Acting Chairperson of NLC Ondo State Council following the crisis rocking the state chapter of the Union.

It could be recalled that the duo of Comrade Victor Amoko, embattled Chairman and Comrade Ademola Olapade were laying claim to the leadership of the union in Ondo State.

The crisis began when members of the State Executive Council (SEC) of the Congress spreading across 22 affiliate unions took the decision at a special meeting held at the State NLC Secretariat at Alagbaka Akure on Thursday 11th July, 2024 to elect new Chairman and Comrade Olapade Ademola was elected as Chairman of the Congress, replacing Comrade Amoko.

In a letter made available to The PATH which was addressed to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa by the National Headquarters of the union stated that Comrade Akinyemi Olatunbosun is the Acting Chairperson of the union in Ondo State.

The Letter was signed by the General Secretary of NLC, Com Emmanuel Ugboaja.

The letter read:

“We write to formally introduce the Acting Chairperson of the NLC Ondo State Council, Comrade Akinyemi Olatunbosun.

We solicit for your support and ask that you extend a hand of partnership to the Acting Chairperson.

Please accept our exteemed regard”.

Speaking with the State President of NULGE, Comrade Frederick Akinrilola on the appointment of Comrade Akinyemi Olatunbosun as the Acting Chairperson, he commended the leadership of NLC for the quick intervention saying NLC has constitution that guide the running of the union.

He urged SEC members to cooperate and support the Acting Chairperson in the interest of the union in Ondo State.
