Akure Community will Immortalise ‘Expensive’ Says Deji, Calls For Unity

The Deji of Akure, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ogunlade Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo CFR (Odundun II) has disclosed that the Late Adedayo Omolafe ‘Expensive’ would be immortalized, saying his noble contributions to the development of Akure Kingdom will continue to be remembered.

Late Adedayo Omolafe, a former chairman of Akure South and Federal Lawmaker representing Akure South and North Federal Constituency died on the 16th of August, 2021.

The first Class monarch who doubled as the Chairman Council of Obas in Ondo State made this disclosure at the Akure Prays, a yearly programme organized to pray for the Peace of the ancient town.

This year Prayers Programme is significant because it marked 40 years when some Sons and Daughters of Akure were gruesomely murdered for political reasons.

The like of Agbayewa was brutally murdered on the 16th of August, 1983 along other eminent sons of the town.

Speaking, the Monarch said no more shedding of blood in Akure kingdom in the name of politics.

He enjoined all and sundries to unite and work toward the development of Akure Kingdom.

Deji noted that in no distance time, Akure son will be elected governor of Ondo State, adding that despite not producing elected governor since the creation of the state, no town in the state can march the developmental milestones of the state capital.

He further said cultists menace in the town has become thing of the past as many of the suspects were made to swear oath of peaceful disposition in the city.

In his sermon titled ” The New Beginning” Prophet Daramola said Akure has begun to witnessed a new beginning, saying the heart desire of the town has be granted by God.

He appealed to the wounded hearts to forgive and forget those that wrong them during the 1983 massacre, noting that Akure can only development when unity and love prevail.

Some of the dignitaries in attendance includes Bishops, Pastors, Prophets, Political Leaders, Traditional Rulers among others.
