A community leader In Ondo State, Otunba Benji Oloye has attributed the Saturday victory of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to team work among the major stakeholders of the party.
Prior to the election, Otunba Benji while speaking with the PATH said the only thing that can coast APC and its Candidate to victory is team work, saying the candidate of the party is not a well known personality to the electorates.
” If team work and team spirit is put into the race, definitely APC will win. The good work of Arakunrin Akeredolu in the state capital is another advantage for the ruling party “.
Otunba Mayokun Lawson Alade of APC was declared by INEC as the winner of the Saturday bye election to fill the vacant seat of the Akure South and North Federal Constituency at the lower chamber.
Benji said the candidate enjoyed the maximum support of his co-contestants in the party’s primary which resulted into the winning of APC.
The returning officer for the election, Professor Deji Ogunsemi of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA announced the result of the election on behalf of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with LAF polled 26,379 to beat six other contestants in the election.
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Olumuyiwa Adu, esq, followed him closely with 24,201 votes, while Oluwawemimo Fadeke of the African Democratic Party (ADP) had 465 votes.
Others are Joseph Ajayi of the All Peoples Party (APP) polled 125 votes; Olaniyi Olufemi of the National Redemption movement (NRM) 76 votes; Opawole Tajudeen of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) 68 votes and Olawale of Accord Party polled only 41 votes.
