Akoko Indigenes Celebrate Promoted Major General LT Omoniyi

It was a gathering of who-is-who in Akoko axis of Ondo State as sons and daughters of Akoko extradition gathered together at Deja Vu Hotel and Suites Akure to celebrate the promotion of Major General Lukman Tokunbo Omoniyi.

Major General LT Omoniyi was promoted in December 2021 from the rank of Brigadier General to a Major General alongside 41 other Brigadier Generals in Abuja.

In celebration of his promotion, the Akoko Indigenes residing in Akure organized a rosy reception to celebrate one of them.

Speaking, the Chairman of the heroic reception, Pastor Jide Ipinsagba praised the astute leadership qualities of the General, adding that his humility distinguished him from others as an army officer.

Col Foluso Saka (rtd), the Chairman Planning Committee thanked God in the life of the General, attributing his promotion to mercy and grace of God. ” It is not by your power, right or privilege that bring forth promotion but by the grace and mercy of God”.

To Tajudeen Nasiru Oki, Major General LT Omoniyi is a humble, respectful to both the old and young ones without looking down on anybody despite his position in the Army.

The Former Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Abdulsalam Olawale said the General is a fine army officer whose humility is second to none.

Real Admiral Samuel Alade, a retired Naval Officer noted that, Major General LT Omoniyi is uncommon breed in the Nigeria Army, with great passion and zeal to defend the territorial integrity of the country.

Hon Segun Adagunodo Santana stated that, Major General Omoniyi is a blessing not only to Ikare but Akoko and Ondo State in general.

Reacting, Major General Lukman Tokunbo Omoniyi, commended Akoko Indigenes and friends for the rare honour extended to him, thanking them for the heroic reception.

He promised to continue to contribute his best quota to the development of Akoko axis of the state and never derail from path of honour. ” A lot of people have described me as a humble man, that is the way God moulded me and you don’t expect me to change overnight”.

He also promised to use his office to promote and facilitate good things to Akoko land and Ondo State.

List of roll calls were endless as politicians, captain of industries, business mogul, Army Generals (both serving and retired) graced the reception. Among the dignitaries are Col Foluso Saka (rtd), Pastor Jide Ipinsagba, Rear Admiral Samuel Alade (rtd), Major General Olugoju (rtd), Commandant, 32.Brigade Artillery, Rt Hon Abdulsalam Olawale, Rt Hon Fatai Aburumakun, CEO of Deja Vu Hotel and Suites, Mr Olatunji Jubrin, Chief Sunday Owoyemi, Oluomo of Akure kingdom, Hon Yekini Olanipekun, Hon Rasheed Elegbeleye.

Also in attendance are Mr Tajudeen Nasiru Oki, Hon Bunmi Tunji Ojo, represented by Hon Asagunla, Hon Taye Akinyele, Hon Segun Adagunodo Santana, Chief Alex Akande, Hon Lekan Bada among others.
