I joined the good people of Ondo State in honouring the memory of a great son of our dear Sunshine State, a fearless and uncommon Nigeria politician, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, former Governor of Ondo State who passed away a year ago.
Like the popular Nistrodamus, Aketi is a man who saw tomorrow, though not a Robed Prophet, he knew the man who will succeed him and he gave his blessing to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa long before the lurking hands of death came calling.
Today, his choice of the best man for Ondo State prevailed in the just concluded governorship election in our dear State. I know Aketi would be happy seeing Aiyedatiwa continue from where he stopped.
Aside the infrastructural legacy and others that speak volumes, AKETI legacy of boldness, fearlessness and speaking truth to power stood him out among his peers, all these will continue to inspire us and the younger ones.
His commitment to good governance, justice, and equality was unwavering; no wonder, his predecessor, Governor Aiyedatiwa is following his foot path of a better Ondo State.
I extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to his beloved family, good people of Ondo State, friends, and associates. Though, Aketi is no more, but his memory will linger forever.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of the people of Ondo State who he used his Life and Time to served diligently
