The Honourable Commissioner of Power, Mines and Mineral Resources, Engr Rasaq Obe has described the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN as a visionary leader who prioritized good governance above personal interest.
The Commissioner stated this while feeding questions from the PATH on the giant strides recorded by the governor in the last five years of his administration.
Engr Obe said, Arakunrin impactful leadership in Ondo State is exceptional in terms of physical and human development.
While congratulating the Governor on his five years purposeful leadership in the state, Obe noted that, Arakunrin giant strides cut across every divides of governance.
He described the Governor as a record breakers and, record setters as many unprecedented achievements were recorded under his watch as the Executive Governor of the Sunshine State.
” The performance of Mr Governor is not limited to one particular sector of governance alone, but cut across every area. Ondo State is more secured under the watch of Arakunrin; his determination and courage gave birth to Amotekun Security Networks and today, residents of the state can sleep with their eyes closed”.
The Commissioner noted that, infrastructural development, huge investment in education, heath, agriculture, power and youth empowerment distinguished Governor Akeredolu from his predecessors in office.
He commended the creation of Ministry of Power, Mines and Mineral Resources, saying Governor Akeredolu determination to give special attention to adequate power generation and supply, proper monitoring of the state mineral asset gave birth to the ministry.
Obe said the giant strides of the governor should be celebrated rather than speaking ills of the APC led government in Ondo State. ” We are not selling the governor by saying this, Akeredolu is not running for any elective position but his achievements is there for everyone to see”.
He assured the people of the Ondo Southern Senator District of power restoration, saying all hands are on deck in ensuring the residents of the region return to national grid of power generation and supply.
He frowned at illegal miners operating in the state saying the government of Ondo State will not hesitate to jail anyone exploring mineral resources without government approval.
” The law says all mineral belong to the Federal Government, that isn’t a problem; the problem is when some people start exploring the mineral asset without permission from the state government, we won’t tolerate such impunity as a government”.
Obe said further that Ondo State is better positioned for Bitumen exploration.
He charged every citizen and resident of the state to cooperate with the governor, saying everybody has a role to play as prosperity will judge everyone.
