AKANDE TRADITIONAL MEDICAL HOSPITAL ESTABLISHED TO CURE GENERAL DISEASES SAYS DR. AKANDE

The Chief Medical Director of AKANDE TRADITIONAL MEDICAL HOSPITAL Igbara-Oke the headquarters of Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State Alhaji (Dr) Prince Akande Suleiman Idowu has averred that his traditional hospital is open for the treatment and curing of diseases such as; Diabetes,Stoke, Margarine,Bone Fractures, Arthritis,Rheumatism, Barrenness,High Blood Pressure, Septic Wound,Fibroid etc.
The Chief Medical Director added that the hospital equally handles child delivery without any iota of problem.
Dr.Akande who is a prominent member of Traditional Birth Attendants in Nigeria urged pregnant women not to patronize quack “midwives”who are not members of Traditional Birth Attendants in Nigeria as well as Ondo State.
The pregnant women should be wary of HIV/AIDs and engage the services of qualified TBA before, during and after childbirth.
“Already, Traditional Birth Attendants have set up Taskforce to monitor the activities of impostors with a view to arresting them and subsequently hand over to the Law Enforcement Agents” he pointed out.
The life of our pregnant women are so precious that should not be cut short as a result of activities of illegal and unregistered Traditional Birth Attendants operating in and outside Ondo State.
He added that all cases of spiritual attacks, negative energy (apepa in yoruba language),curses,spelt among others can be reverted as soon as he set his eyes on such individuals so affected or such things were imposed upon.
Speaking on the relationship between trado-medical practitioners and Orthodox medical practitioners,he stated that there is always a symbiotic relationship between them.
According to him,a lot of women at the point of delivery have been referred to him and he used traditional means to take their deliveries without any hitch.
“We don’t have any problem with the Orthodox doctors except good working and inter personal relationship” he explained.
Dr.Akande who has his Traditional Medical Hospital in Oyo,Oyo State as well as Igbara-Oke in Ondo State implored the government of the Sunshine State to extend it good hands of fellowship to all registered Traditional Birth Attendants in Ondo State through empowerment programmes of the state government and Special Grants so that they can perform their work very effectively.
The Ondo State Government led by Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has since inception brought accelerated development to Ondo State, which is very commendable.He however stated that the Oyo State Government has been of great assistance to Traditional Birth Attendants from time immemorial and implored Ondo State Government to equally help them as currently being enjoyed in Oyo State.
Dr.Akande Suleiman Idowu who is a noble Prince from Oyo stated that all the aspirants contesting to occupy Alaafin of Oyo vacant stool are Princes from the Royal Family.
“We are all from the same royal house and there is no cause for alarm”he pointed out.
The position of Alaafin of Oyo is so prominent and as such cannot be occupied by just anybody who does not know his right from left knowingfully well that Alaafin of Oyo is number One Traditional Ruler among the Yoruba race world wide
