A Former Vice President and People’s Democratic Party Presidential aspirant, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to give Ondo State special place in his government if elected in the forthcoming general elections.
He made this disclosure while speaking with the national delegates of the party at Ondo State party’s Secretariat in Akure yesterday.
The former VP commended the party and people of Ondo over the overwhelming votes given to him in the last presidential election.
” I value the people of Ondo State who have always stand firm with me, you can be assured of special place in my government.
While identifying five key areas of his administration if elected, Atiku said his government will unify Nigerians, provide adequate security, revamp comatose economy, funding of education and ensure there’s peace and stability.
He stated that, Buhari APC led government has caused disunity among Nigerians, promise to unify and bring sense of belonging to every ethnic region.
The Turaki of Adamawa promised to equip the country’s security agencies and increase it’s personnel for efficient service delivery. ” It is when the country is adequately secured that you can talk of developing economy; I will increase our police and Army and equip them with modern equipment”.
He said under the People’s Democratic Party administrations, Nigeria is rated as the best economy in Africa, noting that Buhari led APC has failed woefully in managing the economy of the country.
While advocating for restructuring, Atiku stressed the need to decentralise power and return more responsibility to the state.
On education, he bemoaned the incessant strike of the University lecturers, promising to adequately fund education.
He charged the delegates to elect the best candidate that will return PDP to power in 2023.” Atiku Abubakar is a household name in Nigeria, that is why you gave me over 35,000 votes margin in 2019″.
Speaking, the State Chairman, Alhaji Fatai Adams assured the aspirant of total support of the state delegates, promising to deliver the state to him comes 2023 general election.
