Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ondo State Chapter, Bisi Ajiboye-Sogigun, has described the passing of Pa Reuben Fasoranti at 100 as not merely the departure of an individual, but the closing of a glorious chapter in the history of Nigeria.

In a tribute titled _”PA FASORANTI: A Glorious Exit At 100″_ made available to PATH NEWS in Akure, Ajiboye-Sogigun said though the earthly journey of the Afenifere leader has ended, his legacy of wisdom, courage, patriotism, education, and principled leadership will continue to inspire generations yet unborn.

He described Pa Fasoranti as more than a teacher, politician, author, educationist, mentor, elder statesman and father figure to many.

“He was a symbol of integrity, a custodian of democratic values, and a man whose life demonstrated that true greatness is measured not by the positions one occupies but by the positive impact one makes on society,” he said.

The ANA Vice Chairman noted that as an educationist, Pa Fasoranti understood the transformative power of knowledge, as a politician he stood for his convictions, and as an elder statesman his voice carried the weight of experience.

Sharing his personal encounter, Ajiboye-Sogigun said he will forever cherish the day Basorun Seinde Arogbofa took him to meet Pa Fasoranti.

“I remember the day Basorun Seinde Arogbofa took me to meet Pa Fasoranti. It was an encounter that left an indelible impression on my heart. In the presence of this distinguished elder, I received words of encouragement, elderly wisdom, and invaluable advice. At the end of our meeting, he prayed for me,” he recounted.

He said the prayer was more than a closing gesture but a precious moment of connection with a man whose life embodied experience, service, and sacrifice.

“His words of encouragement strengthened my spirit, while his advice reminded me of the importance of humility, perseverance, and commitment to worthy causes. I will continue to treasure that moment as part of my personal history.”

Ajiboye-Sogigun added that while the physical departure of the centenarian has created a painful vacuum, the values he represented remain a compass for those who desire a better Nigeria.

“At 100, Pa Fasoranti has completed a remarkable chapter of life. He leaves behind a legacy that transcends political affiliations, ethnic boundaries, and generations. His life teaches us that leadership is service, knowledge is a responsibility, and integrity is a priceless inheritance.”

“As we mourn this great Nigerian, we also celebrate a century of impact, sacrifice, and service to humanity. May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may his exemplary life continue to illuminate the path of generations to come,” he prayed.
